PC gaming vs Console gaming

Honestly, this is like the 4802342384394023485300923211'th thread about PC vs console gaming and ALL of those threads conclude by saying 'Pc gaming and console gaming are good for their own separate reasons.They CANNOT be compared to each other on a subjective basis'.

Personally, i prefer the console when I have friends over since its fun to do some button mashing while playing come MK or some Def Jam...but I prefer my PC when I game alone since it can handle the latest games.
 
I too feel a console is a good thing to fire up once friends come over but mainly because consoles aren't something everyone owns unlike a PC which everyone does.

Also, many multiplayer console games support split-screen gaming which makes for some quick gaming which Is rarely supported by PC games.
 
Consoles are for the full-on gamer, PC's are for the enthusiast.
Not everyone is entertained quite so easily ;)

Although I must agree, with the new breed of consoles, I don't have such a hard time trying to enjoy the games mainly due to their much more polished nature.
The X360 allows me to play BioShock and Marvel UA co-op has its' moments.
 
LOL...what's funny is I posted the original post as I was bored at work, and suddenly found one old mail in my mail archives way back from 2005 from Kev182 regarding a GF6800 he was selling to me

that brought back a lot of memories of all the driver updates/benchmarking and what not that I did over the next 1-2 months

so I just typed this down just for the heck of it and posted it having meant this to be more of a funny thread than anything else (there are tonnes of week/month/year ols console vs PC debates on TE anyway...)

seeing Sesar's post above, it seems as if the thread digressed in atotally tangential direction though

Lets try another humorous angle in this:

U bring a girl to your room.... two things that she immediately notices:
a) The huge poster of naked painted women on the wall.
b) A big screen on the table with a tall box next to it.

She raises her eyebrows and you immediately try to explain that the naked women poster is a pink floyd poster..(phew got out of that one).

Now she looks at the screen on the table with a tall box next to it and thus follows the two possible scenarios-

*A*
She: Whats that?
You: Its an XBOX360.
She: Cool, do u have GH2?
You: Hell yeah!!
She: Lets rock on :D

*B*
She: Whats that?
You: Its my PC.
She: Cool...
You: Yeah, its got an Intel X98000 16 core processor clocked at ....*blah* *blah*......with a GPU of ....*blah* *blah*
She: Ermm...i think i gotta go (inside voice: nerd L)
What would you prefer? :P

disclaimer: This is a purely situational scenario with no intentions to start a fight or anything..either laugh or just put it aside as a lame joke :bleh:

Only scenario B is imagined..the rest is as close to the truth as it can get *smug*

Good thing musicians are a different race altogether... Lemmy of Motorhead once said: if you hold a guitar you will get the chicks... if you can play it well, they'd take their clothes off. Anyone can play a video game - go figure! ;)
 
I still maintain you can be a nerd and get the chicks....

The oohs & aahs that the puter in my ride gets from the fairer sex is alone worth the price of admission :ohyeah:

On to the topic, console games like nearly everyone else says are good only good if you have friends over. what happens on those lone friday nites is something better left in the closet :bleh:
 
atleast scenario b can waste a hell lot of time but there is one thing :@

it saves u a hell lot of money that u can waste every week behind pizza and beer :bleh: :beer:

pc can be a pain in ass :sos: :crash:

and ya console can be a pain in ass for me :(

untill that ekta kapoor :chair: :jason: is alive ill never get tv for gaming :P

For me it totally depends on the games :P I want to buy Xbox 360 badly just because i want to play Halo 3 and GOW,etc. As for PC it still rox for me :D. I am totally not confortable with controllers other than the racing games and ones like Prince of Persia, etc..
