CPU/Mobo PC Upgrade tomorrow.... Recommendation pls

Finally got my hands on some cash so going in for an update 2morow...

Ive got 20k to change my processor, motherboard, RAM and cabinet....

Already have a coolermaster 600W SMPS, and 4850 gfx card.....

SO now quickly give suggestions as to what i should opt for...
Wont be overclocking anything at all.... would be playing games on it, watching movies.... working with photoshop to some extent too.....
 
Processor - e8400

RAM - 2GB corsair 800Mhz

Motherboard - Gigabyte G31 S2L

Cabinet - CM690
 
Wait for a few days to become intel price cuts effective.

Get a

Q9400 (12k) + Gigabyte EP31 (3.2k) + Gi skill pi (3.3k) + CM Elite + 1 more fan.
 
Q6600 (10k) + Gskill Pi Black 2x2GB 800MHz (3.3k via KMD) + Gigabyte GA-EP31-DS3L (3.5k) + Coolermaster CM690 (4k)
 
Q9400 > Q6600, go for it blindly. RAM = PI Black without a shadow of doubt. Go for an overclockable board.
 
Another option:

E8500 (9.8k) + Gigabyte G31-S2L (2.35k) + Corsair XMS2 2x2GB 800MHz (2.9k) + CM690 (4k).

PS: Please change the PSU ASAP!

Its a CM 600W >>>

THe price cut wont show up in India till atleast 2 weeks... and i cant wait that long .... :)

umm.. he clearly states he isnt going to overclock.

Go for gunny's advise, get a VX450 too :)

Whats with the price cut? :S These're the recent prices.

And thats a godforsaken PSU which killed a lot of rigs here. Poor efficiency overall and is in fact a rebranded Seventeam 500W. Discussed to death here. :|

U should get a better PSU like the VX450. Retails for <4k in which case u could compromise for the enclosure. Get a Zebronics Bijli or the likes. ~ 1.1k w/o the PSU.

OP says he wont be OC'ing at all. I believe the E8500 is faster clock-to-clock and cheaper than the Q6600 in most apps (minus rendering :gap:).
 
e8400 8.5k + ga31-s2l 2.3k + transcend PSC 2gb x 2 2.3k + vx450 3.6k + cm333 1.5k

You seriously need to reconsider on psu. cm600 has been culprit in many blown rigs.:P

yeah right..i would say For the requirement, a VX450 would easily suffice but just in case you wish to spend a bit more, you could get the TX650/Antec Earthwatts 650. :)
HX620 is priced almost the same as what it used to retail for 2 yrs back.
 
Q6600 or Q9400 as many games are slowly starting to prefer quad cores :)

P.S. whatever you buy but just avoid all Asus P5N series ("rite" recommened one) motherboards as they do not support 45nm Quad Core Processors (Q8xxx & Q9xxx series)
