Note: If you encounter ‘page cannot be displayed’, ‘page currently not available’ errors or other similar error messages, keep trying. These are caused by server issues and not because the signups are closed. If you get any of the error messages after hitting signup, you’ll have to re-fill the signup form and resubmit. Refreshing the error message might not work and give you a ‘you did not agree to the rules’ error.

P.S. – You might have to use Google Translate or AIRTranslate Desktop App to decipher error messages in Chinese.
HDChina is probably the largest both it terms of content as well as user base. It’s a specialized High Definition torrent site that tracks a lot of English movies and TV series. Releases indexed here being untouched Blu Ray or x264 encoded rips, video quality of torrents tracked by HDChina are usually very good. HD is a private community and is usually invite-only. However, it does occasionally open signups to the public and the good news is that one such open registrations session is currently ongoing. Their server seems to be getting hammered by a lot of new users trying to sign up all at once but if you keep trying, you will eventually be able to get in.
Although not very popular in the western world, HDChina is a huge private tracker and is one of the largest HD trackers ever. As of 28/10/2010 there are close to 25000 registered members on HDC and it has a huge torrent index consisting of 18000+ torrents. The reason for it’s relative lack of popularity in English speaking countries might be the whole ‘Chinese connection’. After having a glance at the signup page filled with Chinese characters, many people seem to turn away, assuming this to be a BitTorrent tracker with releases local to China. This however is far from the truth. Majority of the content on HDC are English with international releases such as Hollywood blockbusters being indexed. Even the site interface can easily be switched to English if required - Once logged in, just click on the English flag icon on the top left corner of the page to change the language. Also note that this site labels almost all torrents including English only releases using both Chinese and English wording. So just know that a torrent having a Chinese label doesn’t mean it’s a Chinese release.
As for the content, HDC is movie/TV tracker. A list of categories and video formats found on this tracker are summarized below:

•Movie: Blu-ray, 1080i, 1080p, 720p
•TV Episode: TV EP (CN/HK/TW), TV EP (JP/KR), TV EP (US/UK)
•TV PACK: TV Pack China (HK/TW), TV Pack JP/KR, TV Pack US/UK
•Others: Sports, Animation, Documentary, Music Video
•Audio: Lossless, Audio Track
Individual releases (which include 0day uploads) are accompanied by large torrent packs. These are pretty huge, with some packs exceeding 400GB in file size

Torrents indexed on HDC have very good health thanks to the large seeder base. Some of the most popular torrents have over 500 seeds each and download speeds are generally very good. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about the HDC’s web page navigation. Navigation becomes a pain in the ass when the server is busy (when there are a lot of people online, when there is an open signup ongoing, etc). When this happens, you need to hit refresh several times just to get to the torrent browse page from the HDC homepage (which is pretty annoying).

Overall this is a pretty decent HD tracker. For those who want to get in,HDC is currently having open signups as well as sitewide free leech. These won’t last last forever so get in while you can. Be warned that if your account has 0kb upload/download after 7 days since registration, it will automatically be deleted

Merlin (ML) – New Science Fiction/Fantasy Torrent Tracker From ACiD Crew

How to get invited to ML

Currently there are two ways to request for an invite to ML. In both cases, you will be invited (if approved) by tracker staff themselves and there is no need to worry about getting scammed.

1.Send an E-mail with the subject ‘Merlins Invite’ to merlins.invite@gmail.com. Be sure to include at least one screenshot (which shows your ratio on site) of a private torrent tracker that you are already a member of.
OR
2.Login to ML invites IRC channel and request an invite there – please follow rules stated in the channel topic. Invite channel details are as follows:
Server: irc.pron.org.uk
Channel: #merlins-invites
Direct Link: irc://irc.pron.org.uk/merlins-invites
Special thanks to methods, MuddSlinger, Saavyboy and rest of ACiD/ML staff for the heads up.

Merlin (or ML) is a new private torrent site that indexes movies, TV shows and music that belong to Science Fiction / Fantasy genres. ML is not just any new project launched by a bunch of beginners to the BitTorrent scene. It’s backed by an experienced crew who are responsible for running the successful ACiD tracker, one of the best and oldest community based private torrent sites in existence. Launching to the public in the first week of March, Merlin will initially be closed for public signups. However, interested members will be able to join the tracker through official IRC recruitment channel as well as by requesting for an invite via E-Mail.
Given the nature of secrecy surrounding ML project, chances are that you may never have heard about this site until now. Even after the public launch, it’s unlikely that ML will turn into a ‘public’ private tracker as it usually happens nowadays (not saying it’s a bad thing). It’s publicity policy is something similar to that employed by ACiD - posting of full tracker URL or name in public is prohibited. However it’s not one of those out of reach sites either - Although there are no open signups for now (there may be in future), members will initially be recruited via both IRC and E-mail. Just like ACiD, community will have a higher focus on ML and it won’t just be about torrents and downloading.
Even though it’s a brand new tracker ML already indexes 425+ active torrents. These include movies, TV shows, soundtracks all related to the Science Fiction and Fantasy genres. Quite a few exclusive, unique torrents have also been indexed. These can be identified by ‘Menc’ or ‘ML’ tags on torrent title and are usually placed inside ‘Merlin Encodes’ category. Expect ML to build both its torrent index as well as registered users database pretty fast – they have the backing of ACiD which already has a rock solid foundation with ~20000 active members.

If you are ever to become a member of ML, you might want to read their downloading rules. Quoted from the rules page:

•A Hit & Run here on ML is when you complete a torrent, stop it and do not return to seed within 24 hrs. This applies to all torrents whether they are free download torrents, ratio boosters, and special vip torrents, such as movie box sets etc... unless other wise stated by a staff member.
•You need to be active on every torrent you download for a minimum of 72 hrs (3 days) or, achieve a 1:1 ratio, unless the torrent is over 20 gb's in size. This means total time downloading and seeding.
•If the torrent is over 20GB's in size then we require that you be active on it for 120 hrs (5 days) or achieve a 1:1 ratio (Which ever comes first). This means total time downloading and seeding.
The above are minimum seed time requirements. Seeding beyond the minimum will net you 1.5x credit on uploads.

^ Followed the Email step. Lets see how it works.

Btw, anybody has an Invite @ sciencehd.info? Would really appreciate if i could get one.. sciencehd.info is a treasure for a guy like me.

Okay, did Merlins.. got Invite.. REgistered.. The site is no big deal.. too less seeders on most of the torrents.. guess ScienceHD is a better and real torr for HD Science.

Site Name: TheDVDClub (TheDVDClub.Org)
Signup URL: TheDVDClub.Org :: Signup
Stats: 9500+ users and 2500+ active torrents

The DVD Club has opened signups for one day only. The occasion? They’re celebrating 4 years of being online.
When it comes to downloading untouched DVD5/DVD9/BD5/BD9 torrents, the DVD Club is one of the best resources on the net. TDC indexes movies and TV shows in their original DVD/Blu Ray format, complete with menus, extras, bonus content and more. You won’t find any XViD rips here but there are some x264 encoded torrents which needless to say have excellent video quality. TDC will be open for signup and have sitewide free leech today, in celebration of their 4th birthday.
Site Name: LeechersLair
Signup URL: Leecherslair :: Signup
Stats: 16000+ users and 2200+ torrents

LeechersLair (LL) is one of those private trackers that’s gone through a lot. The site has undergone multiple URL changes, server issues and faced numerous other obstacles but in the end they’ve managed to survive. There are still intermittent uptime issues but LL is still a great General/0Day tracker with a good community and decent download speeds. They’ve opened registrations to the public after having last opened doors in last August.

Site Name: Digital Hive (http://www.digitalhive.org)
Signup URL: http://www.digitalhive.org/signup.php
Stats: 12000+ torrents and 20000+ users

DigitalHive is a private torrent tracker that’s managed to grab the attention of many during the last couple of months. Things have been progressing really well for this tracker ever since they launched DigitalHive v2.0. DH employs one of the best custom tracker interfaces found on a General 0Day tracker – however it’s not all about the looks. First of all DH has very fast pre times that can compete with leading scene trackers such as SCC.
Download speeds on DH even for newly uploaded torrents are pretty good. Each new torrent is initially seeded by two different seedboxes, making life easy for leechers. An autouploader bot is present on DH, which is responsible for spewing hundreds of scene releases daily into the torrent index. Close to 500 new torrents have been added today (6th) alone. Signups for DH are currently open – you might want to check their inactivity rules (which recently changed) if you are to survive on this tracker.
Site Name: TorrentVault (TorrentVault)
Signup URL: Register - TorrentVault
Stats: 45000+ torrents and ~11000 users

Until several months ago TorrentVault was an average 0day tracker without many highlights. However their move to Gazelle back in November 2009 was a major turning point – not only did the site upgrade to a state of the art user interface but it drew the attention of many with it’s fast pre times and hundreds of new torrents uploaded daily by it’s numerous autouploader bots. During our last mention of TV, there were only ~10000 torrents indexed. However by today this number has exceeded 45000 – that’s more than 35k torrents added in less than 5 months time which is an impressive feat for any 0Day tracker. What’s even more important is that TV’s staff have had the time to think beyond fast pre times and number of torrents. Two major new features were added to the site during this time; TorrentVault MarketPlace and TV mIRC AutoDownloader.
TV will have open signups up until the site reaches 12k users (which leaves around 1000 free slots remaining).
