jst a casual run ...using e6300 + 512mb ddr2 533mhz ramos + msi 965p neo

CPU = 450x7 = 3.15GHz
Ram = 360x2 (4-4-4-12)
Strap = 1333
CPU Volts = 1.40v
Ram Volts = 2.20v
MCH Volts = 1.725v
vFSB Volts = 1.40v

Ram is stopping me from doing more :@

The CPU & Motherboard can do more I know but my RAM absolutely denies to boot above 720MHz :no:

have to change RAM soon :D

tried with 5-5-5-15 also but it did not budge

Here's my overclock: (its my first time :) )



FSB = 430 MHz (default = 266MHz)
Multiplier = 7.0 (default = 7.0)
CPU Freq = 3010 MHz (default = 1860MHz)
CPU Voltage = 1.3375V (default = 1.2875V)

Memory Freq = 860MHz (default = 800MHz) (FSB:RAM = 1:1)
Memory Voltage = 1.9V (default = 1.8V)
Memory Timings = 5-5-5-15 (default = 5-5-5-12)

Orthos Stability (Stress CPU (Core & 2) with Small FFTs) checked for: 53mins
Notes: Stable

Max CPU Temperatures:
Idle = 37C (default = 32C)
Load = 50C (default = 38C)

Although i think i can try for higher speeds (3.2GHz max) for sometime, the current results are good enough for a 24X7 operation during winters...in summers i can go back to 2.8GHz....

^^^Orthos Stability with Small FFTs for 53mins is not = stable :P

run Orthos Stability Blend whole night for 9 hours at least before announcing your PC stable

Yup... blend is a lot harder than small fft. The new prime95 is also a pretty hard torture test.

running for 9 hours seems a pain...but anyway i'll do it tonight and let you know tomorrow...

I need help from you guys....
So far i've done the following:
fsb = 430mhz (fsb:ram =1:1), set every chipset feature option to disabled, memory timings = 5-5-5-15, vdimm = 1.9V.

Here are the results for orthos stability blend test for different vcore voltages at above settings -

1.3375V: failed after running for 7 mins (surprisingly orthos stress cpu test was stable for 53 mins)
1.35V: failed after running for 42mins
1.3625V: failed after running for 1hour 10 mins

At all these settings, i'm able to run all games & super pi flawlessly,

My board has a vdroop of ~0.06V...so at 1.3625V, i get 1.312V idle/ 1.295V load

Do i need to increase the vcore more? How much more? Any other setting i should change? I can't see the option of changing MCH voltage on my bios?

yeah you needto.. try 1.385 How are the temps ? keep an eye on that :P

temperatures couldn't be better -
Asus PC Probe: 38C idle/ 50C load
Intel TAT: 31C idle/ 45C load
wonder whcih one is giving correct info!

use TAT or core temp.. these report the temps as they are ;) The temp seem good yaar.. what cooling? :D

monitoring the CPU temp with Asus PC Probe is B.S :P

Good ol Thermaltake Big Typhoon + AS 5... ok will stop using pc probe.... and will also try core temp just to check

5 hours orthos blend is enuf lol. Dont care about 8-9 hours unless ur pc is acting as a dataserver or somethin :P

naa orthos can even fail after 7-8 hours.. its best to check for at least 8-10 hours with a orthos blend test.

8-10 hrs of blend test is essential. Anything less and you might suddenly get reboot or data corruption.

Whats the vcore? Seems like its way too high :P. You should e able to do 3GHz at stock volts or thereabouts.
