Darklord: prime95 please. Need to know how long did it run in Prime. at those settings. Very very very important. Please help.--------> Will do so.Although i dont care if its prime stable or not.I dont understand whats all the fuss about the overclock being Prime Stable.There is no rule as such that the OC should be prime stable.If its not prime stable, doesnt mean its not a good OC :hap5:
This is because if it is not prime stable, it will creep errors on lengthy processing tasks. Prime95 tries to find a Mersenne Prime and since they are calculated using exponentials values any errors which are created due to rounding off would mean there is something wrong with the hardware. That is why i normally try the first option of pure CPU. to find if it is the processor which is limited, only if the processor is ok, i would move to tweaking my RAM.
If my machine is on a serious mathematical calulation for over 96 hours. and i get rounding-off errors then the system will crash or give me wrong results.
(Which it is) Most likely in applications which are off the shelf, like Max, Maya , after effects it would crash. that is again fatal for me. So if it is not prime stable, then it is ok for a screen capture, but not for usage.
The same Logic in to why you use ECC RAM for specific.
I would like to know what are the limits of the 3200, since we both are trying our hand at it. once we know the limiting factor we can work out on that. Its helping me find the limits of my Sandy. between you and me. the 3000 Venice is far better performing than the 3200..but lets not give up without a shot.

2] and isn't 1.7 overkill on Vcore.-----> Meaning ????
Since the Venice runs at 1.4 odd..keeping it at 1.7 is a little high all the time.

3] All A8N-E's beyond BIOS 1003 do not allow Vcore beyond 1.550. -------> I didnt get you :huh:
That is a finding, not a query. sorry didn't know you were on DFI. Trying to reprogram the 1005 to give me the option of 1.7
