Post your overclocks !

Just wondering, why havent they gone beyond 3/10 as the Official Bios?
Most people tend to be going to the Beta Bios! BTW, what BIOS would be recommended for the Venice and RAM thats neither TCCx nor UTT ;)

Oskar Wu heard you :P !

Folks, Non-Beta 615 Bios for DFI nF4 released ! Discussion at XS here:

http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=66060&page=1

Three timings now: Normal, Fast, and Fatest :ohyeah: !

Edit: Either PCJedi or I will have to change our nick ! Since he has a SanDiego he prolly should ! just kiddin' :ohyeah: !

^^yup, you're right. There will be prolly more like this discovered in the next few days. That's why I gave the link to the discussion thread at XS.

We'll wait for some guinea p**s to take the bait first !

hehehe.. i downloaded the BIOS.. was thinking of Flashing the board with this.. but then took a peek at XS.. so now i have decided to wait :D

^^Oh Man, I'm sorry. I should have prolly mentioned everyone to wait. This habit of mine to wait and watch comes from my long and bitter experience in dealing with ABIT mobo bioses.

Next time I'll add a caution.

Reading the Links now.....
Dnt hav ny USB stuff , so i think am gonna b the pig :P

BTW those hynix did 255 @stock same timings pass5

not bad for 200$ ram i guess ...................oh wait these r so cheap

Also these Brainpower based pcb hynix r available freely now in lots, atleast now;)

Hehe, sorry Jedimaster, I really didn't remember ;)

BTW what cooling and RAM divider are you using ?

@rocky - 255 on stock timings ? What voltage and which mobo ?

hey anyone can help me in OCing 754 .... i mean some one can provide the info about max speeds with 2800+ clawhammer ......@ wat voltages....

This is what my ****all piece of shit :@ could do max [benching stable,ran 35mark2005 x 3 times,3dmark 2003 x 3 times , Aquamark3 x 4 times , Sisoft Sandra CPU Arithmetic x 2 times]

And this is what my RAM did,

Well here are the detail specs,

CPU Vcore - 1.7V
Vdimm - 3.7V
Chipset Voltage - 1.7V
LDT Voltage - 1.5V
HTT Multiplier - 4x
CPU Multiplier - 10x
CPU Temp @ Idle - 35c
CPU Temp @ Full Load - 43c
Chipset Temp @ Idle - 39c
Chipset Temp @ Full Load - 42C
PWM Temp @ Idle - 36c
PWM Temp @ Full Load - 40c

I will most probably sell of this paper weight sooner than later and try to get hold of something new and better.Lets hope for the best. ;)

@Darklord: prime95 please. Need to know how long did it run in Prime. at those settings. Very very very important. Please help.
I can run my Sandy on 3DMarks and Sandra for over 10 loops. but not for more than 30 minutes on Prime at 2.8 GHz. BTW, I have a 3200 venice too..same stepping as yours. Can't get it prime stable. and isn't 1.7 overkill on Vcore. All A8N-E's beyond BIOS 1003 do not allow Vcore beyond 1.550.

A8N-E has a max Vcore option of 1.55V in BIOS. there is no way u cud supply Vcore of 1.7V without a V-mod. DFI gives u a plethora of options in comparision.

This is because if it is not prime stable, it will creep errors on lengthy processing tasks. Prime95 tries to find a Mersenne Prime and since they are calculated using exponentials values any errors which are created due to rounding off would mean there is something wrong with the hardware. That is why i normally try the first option of pure CPU. to find if it is the processor which is limited, only if the processor is ok, i would move to tweaking my RAM.

If my machine is on a serious mathematical calulation for over 96 hours. and i get rounding-off errors then the system will crash or give me wrong results.(Which it is) Most likely in applications which are off the shelf, like Max, Maya , after effects it would crash. that is again fatal for me. So if it is not prime stable, then it is ok for a screen capture, but not for usage.

The same Logic in to why you use ECC RAM for specific.

I would like to know what are the limits of the 3200, since we both are trying our hand at it. once we know the limiting factor we can work out on that. Its helping me find the limits of my Sandy. between you and me. the 3000 Venice is far better performing than the 3200..but lets not give up without a shot.

Since the Venice runs at 1.4 odd..keeping it at 1.7 is a little high all the time.

That is a finding, not a query. sorry didn't know you were on DFI. Trying to reprogram the 1005 to give me the option of 1.7 :)

About the OC being Prime Stable, I have to agree with Darky.. Its not like I am gonna run the system at its limits all the time.. Finding the limit helps while benchmarking (only.. atleast thats all i care about :P).. but then again thats just me.. :D

If u do, lemme know too.. me too want that option ;)

@ PCjedi,
I am trying out my best, will let you know what is the max i can do on my Venice that is benchable, and NOT Prime stable. This is just to find out the limit.
