Hey!!! That is insulting to my tech knowledge!!!

I know that.... When I recommended that he should have gone for a Winnie, I OBVIOUSLY meant a 939 setup.....

sorry dude .... i didn't mean that i thought u have not seen the MOBO ....

naah!!!

It's ok..... But like you, I have been on TT for a while(the ASK TT section not the forums). SO, you see, I am not totally illiterate when it comes to computers.... especially the hardware part..... :bleh:

@Nikhil 1GB sticks are more expensive than 2*512. So he can't save money that way.
Yeah right, plus you get dual-channel RAM and you can always take one stick off and add it to another comp...

You cannot use DUA CHANNEL on 754 mobos. That is the main advantage of 939 over 754.

@Chaos ---- OK...But some time back it was cheaper right???

I don't think it was ever cheaper! There's always a 1000+ rupee premium on 1GB vs 512*2. Even on higher end ram (which are few and far in between for 1GB), there's a pretty big diff. DDR500 512*2 is around 150$ whereas DDR500 1G is around 230$.

My Rig

Here's my rig :

A8N-E ( 1005-001 Beta BIOS )
3200+ Winnie @ 2250 ( 1.475 v )
Transcend TS32MLD64V4F 2*256 2-3-3-7 1T ( 300 MHz , 2.75 v )
XFX 6800 GT PCI-E Not OC'd
160 G Seagate 'Cuda
Lite-On DVD-RW 1673S
Samsung 56V ( I know that sux)
Antec Lanboy & True Power 480

Though am not done with the OC'ing yet. And anyone having the same RAM as above, could u post the best OC'ing settings for it. Am running it using a divider ( 266 MHz, currently running at 300 MHz ).

hey..i had the same, but a 512MB Transcend with the same Mosel chips.

the SPD is rated at DDR400 2.5-3-3-8, he chips are rated 2-3-3-6...hehehehe..i myself used them at 2-3-2-6.......

just turn down the voltages and remove that divider :)

Just as I posted earlier, am yet to be doe with the OC'ing. The RAM is now running at CPU/15. So will be increasing the speeds of the CPU further and as I do so, the memory speed will also increase.

What's the max speed the RAM will reach at these speeds ?

No way will I be able to OC at these speeds at 1:1.

Which is why am using the divider.

Update :

A8N-E ( 1005-001 Beta BIOS )
3200+ Winnie @ 2300 ( 1.5 v )
Transcend TS32MLD64V4F 2*256 3-3-3-8 1T ( 383 MHz , 2.85 v )
XFX 6800 GT PCI-E Not OC'd
160 G Seagate 'Cuda
Lite-On DVD-RW 1673S
Samsung 56V ( I know that sux)
Sony SRS - D2100 2.1 Spkrs. ( They rock !!! )
Antec Lanboy & True Power 480

And SunMysore, the chips on my RAM state PSC. Know anything abt. them ???

duuuude..make the voltage 2.6V.....those RAM are designed to run safely at DDR400, 2.6V. By overvolting, you are reducing the life of the RAM....:p

i had touched arnd 230FSB @ 2.5-4-4-10 at 2.8V on those transcends....

BTW mine had mosel Vitelic chips....post the complete data on the chips, i.e., the codes, etc etc written on the chip ehre. we can gather minute details about them.....
