Ok, had gone to prime today. After making me wait for an hour

, meenal said that she can give me a 300gb seagate from her old stock. WTF!

I insisted that I wanted a new drive. She said that her engineer had checked my hdd, and found it to be working fine.
I again told her that if I could just come face to face with that engineer, I'll be able to show him the exact problem. For that, I had to again wait for an hour. As I had already wasted over a week on this stupid thing, I decided an hour wasn't a big thing

So I roamed around lamington, had a sandwich, some lassi, and some carrot juice with loads of artificial color

. Then, I called up Bikey, and chatted for about 10 mins. He's better now , but the medicines make him sleep almost all day. He's only switched on his PC a couple of times, and was astonished to get 200kbps on mtnl

Then I told him to go back to sleep, and went back to Prime. The engineer, Datta, arrived after 10mins. We attached the hdd, and I installed HD Tune on his machine. This time, the result was not as bad as the one I've posted above, but had enough spikes to create some doubt in Datta's mind. We then tested another WD of his, which gave a nice clean result (42mb/s). I also showed him the screenshots of my other two drives. Then, he got a new hitachi drive. We ran the benchmark, which started from 78mbps! :O It ran steady for a couple of seconds, and I thought this was one awesome drive

, when HD Tune reported a Read Error! A quick scan showed a couple of bad sectors

We connected the first hitachi once again, and ran a quick scan. There were no bad sectors. Then we ran the benchmark again, and just at the end, it gave a Read Error!
So finally, even meenal had to agree that the drive was bad. But as it was almost 8pm, she couldn't do anthing today, and said she'll surely have something for me tommorow.
