btw, got a replacement board from rashi today...:yahoo: their service rocks :P now everything is working fine. thanx a lot guys. :D

whoa!! sweet dude!!!

congrats.. NOW its done :p :ohyeah::ohyeah::hap2:

So off the shelf replacement worked right? First user on TE to successfully test the Rashi PR announcement lol.

Way to go :D

The full P5Q series from Asus has off the shelf replacement facility. But most probably that is nt for the entire warranty period. Any info about that?

k..now the current temps @ idle -

cpu(@pc probe) - 38C

mobo(@pc probe)- 41C

gpu(@gpu-z) - 55C (50% fan speed)

core1(@realtemp) - 31C

core2(@realtemp) - 32C

core1(@coretemp) - 41C

core2(@coretemp) - 42C

are these temps okay? also tell me one software to monitor all temps (cpu, gpu, hdd etc.)

Congos Apex sir- all's well that ends well. :)

Coretemp and realtemp almost same same?? :P
Which versions of both and are these results correct?
Shripad sir had mentioned we need to recalibrate realtemp to get the right report. :S
(I have to learn that yet. :ashamed:)

Hey Apex, congrats on getting you problem solved, and the temps do look quite ok to me, but I get the exact same temps from CoreTemp and RealTemp, its probably difference in versions, cause I havent updated in quite a while.

But Coretemp does generally reports temps that are higher, compared what my asus doctor used to throw up. But 10C is quite a difference, pls tell us the versions you are using.

i think you have to set the Tj-max to 95 degrees for 45nm proccys

and in general, realtemp is accurate for 45mn i have read somewhere

YUP 95C for 45nm and realtemp is the one which is accurate and Coretemp has to be modded. Easy to do - I had to make a change in the Coretemp's Settings.ini file like so ....

[Core Temp settings]

TjMaxOffset=-10

Now both Coretemp and Realtemp show a perfect match in the Temp readings for my e7200.

thanx...got it. now both realtemp and coretemp reporting the same.

here's a screenshot frm HWMonitor...looks like the temps are bit on the higher side.

gpu temps after half an hour of nfs pro street.

did you perform the fanfix?

also.. temps in general seem slightly toasty. nothing to get worried about.

which cabby do you have? have you set up an intake fan in front of the hdd?

Yes, applied the fanfix...b4 that idle temps were arnd 75-80C :O

at 50% fan speed the gpu idles at 55C.

I've the CM Elite 332 cabby and added a front intake fan as well but it doesn't seem to be helping the HDD temps...probably coz the gpu is very close to the hdd?? :S

Also, check this pic -

what are the default clock speeds for the gpu? :S

i idles at 500/750

when the demand for graphics power increases, it shifts by itself to the higher mode that is 625/993 which u see at the sliders

those 2 buttons are to apply the clocks that you choose on the sliders :)

and btw, which 120mm fan are u using at the front? it may be very low cfm

I too have Elite, Pre installed fan has 45CFM, but dead silent. Why dont U install high CFM 120MM fan (Get GlacialTech 89CFM or Amigo 69CFM) in front of GPU ?? Use zip ties and mount on 3.25" bay

Its very effective, U wont believe ma GPU hardly crosses 55C :hap2:

I have installed 1 120MM in 5.25" bay too, but its little hard, dont have CAM to give U idea, optical drive is mounted in highest bay and all useless cables r chucked other side of bay ie used zip ties eg. see this PIC for eg. not ma PC, use telephone wire etc if cables ties r not lengthy -

back2qk8fr4.jpg

Now only IDE, 24Pin ATX, and 6 Pin PCI wire is visible.

Get high CFM fans, chuck all useless cables in corner, mount 2 extra 120MM fans in front ie 1 @ 3.25, 1 @ 5.25 bay. and it will be super cool.

Thanx Sidhu...I've already added two ~70CFM fans (one as front intake and another as exhaust at the back). I've also added the low CFM (the one that came with the case) to the side GPU vent as intake.

If I add another of those 120mm fans to the 5.25" bay like yours, where will I place the 2nd HDD?? :S

Any more ideas on how to reduce the temps?? Its touching 90C-95C on full load. :S After applying the fanfix, the fan speed will always remain on 50% no matter what. It won't even try and increase the speeds even on full load. IMO, the fanfix is a good solution for keeping the idle temps down but not so while playing. Will adding another case fan help? If yes, where? how? :P
