Finally got Twisted Metal to work:)

Beware guys: the backup takes almost 4 hrs to copy to PS3 internal HDD. Checked in the net to verify its normal. 12Gb in 4 hrs:( Thats one slow copying game.

Game's awesome with the original twisted metal gameplay style. Played for an hour yesterday and I had to be literally dragged away from the game by my wife:)

Also, please note that there are some issues with some particular sound effects (missiles, laugh, etc) which can be fixed by some entries in some file ;p. will try out myself and let u guys know.

mannnnn....I am so happy I did not upgrade my firmware:)

More the number of files, the longer it would take. That was my understanding during the kmeaw 3.55 CFW scene days.

Correct man...its gpt some 25000 files I think. But it was frustrating to wait for 4 hrs; but since the game's awesome I don't mind

People!
I want to remove my jailbreak (Kmeaw CFW 3.55) and connect back to PSN and play online.
If I apply a system restore and simply connect it online, will my console be bricked?
How do I remove it off my PS3?

You could have just increased the parallel transfer files to 4 if there large files and they are small.

Doesn't make a difference. The bandwidth of the ethernet connection is maxed out at its highest speed irrespective of how many files you transfer at a time. I know since I have made a backup of GOW 3 (~40GB) and x-ferred it to the console's internal drive, to a friend's PS3 later and it took me close to an hour. Another game with many chunks of files (Warriors: Legends of Troy) took me close to 2+ hours and the game was some 10GB odd IIRC.

It does , have tested with Demon Souls since it does not open a new connection to transfer other files.

How many files does Demon's Souls have?

12,512 files. That's much lower than what vercetti was transferring. But yes, if there are smaller sized files, the transfer will take time, doesn't matter if you use FTP or USB method.

The biggest b**ch of them all has got to be Splinter Cell Chaos Theory HD. It has a whopping 40,404 files. :dead:

Just factory reset your ps3 and update it online. There are no risks involved in getting back to PSN.

Are you sure? I was informed that it requires some specific method, where no traces of the JB are left.
Will the system restore just be enough? I don't want to brick a fortune!

Guys, n00b here. Is it perfectly safe to simply system restore and just update? Is it that simple or does it require any special method?

IIRC when I had the kmeaw 3.55 CFW on my phat console, all I did was to delete those extras which were installed (don't recall the specifics now), and install ofw 3.60. That's it. I never performed a system restore.

Does anybody know about PS3 v3.56 and above. Is there gonna be a CFW soon or just can't figure out yet. I just got me a console without much Q&A (my bad) Now I cannot afford games and the only games I bought are also getting a lil scratch here and there. Soon I will be out of games to play. wanna back my game up in the internal HDD. But to crack open the case will void the warranty. I want to softmod it if possible! Can anyone tell me when will it be possible, I know I sound kinda lame here but I need help (I guess!) Now my console is on the OFW v4.21 as I can't access PSN with the old OFW. Thanks in advance!!!

Hi All, (gaming) noob here,
Am about to get my hands on a FAT PS3 80 GB version 3.66, this was bought in the US in 2009.

Is there any way to downgrade this to 3.55? Reading the both just above mine, my chances are less it seems. Waiting for the final verdict from you guys.
Someone mentioned, its possible to do it by using an E3 Flasher?

Advice needed.
