PS3 launches 11/17--$499 for 20GB, $599 for 60GB

What r u talking man ? Wat I meant was that the games at the launch will not be exactly next-gen , But that does'nt mean that the console is not capable of producing next gen graphics ! Just Look at the PS2 for example ! Just compare the games released in 2000 to the games released in 2005 ! The Hardware is the same but there is a mountain difference between the graphics ! Likewise u cannot judge PS3 Power with those launch games ! Give it some Time and then u will see the True power of the Console !

Blade said that Sony over promised and under-delivered , thats not True ! You r again judging the PS3 with its crappy Launch Games ! No wonder u find Little difference b/w the ps2 games and ps3 games now ! But That was the case with PS2 as well , right ? The Launch games of PS2 were comparable to the games on PS1 !! But Look wat happened PS2 made History by selling the Highest Number of consoles ! You said that getaway 3 , motorstrom etc etc are all CGI , well maybe they r but its only after 2 years that we can expect that Kinda graphics from PS3 ! Remember After 2 Years !
 
I am not going to go and pull out every single argument you made...

when I said "you don't want....." I didn't mean that you SAID that. I meant that you actually just wanted the PS3 come what may. Which you just confirmed (you need the games).

Bluffmaster has consistently contended the PS3 is better VFM than XBOX360. I never addressed that to you Params.

I have consistently said wait and see. And then buy when it is cheap. The simple fact, as you have now agreed to , is that at launch, the games will not be so good. So why rush in? I say wait until prices drop to 350$ or lower for the premium package and then go ahead. At that point, I might be attracted. And I am much more likely to buy the PS3, than to buy an XBOX360. Not that I am going to buy either any time soon. I don't have the time, money or inclination.

Plus, the argument about PS2 taking time to show its true colours cannot be compared to the PS3 at all. Because PS3 development is quite different. They now have PC like gfx cards, and a compiler (no more assembly language). Which means that they should be able to produce games which are equivalent to the PC within 6 months of release.

Im contemplating on whether to buy this, as a Blu-Ray Player, and occasional sessions of Gaming on it.

Its an awesome price, if you see it as a Blu-Ray player. Gaming added to it :D.

Formula 1 '06 is really tempting :|.
