Rate the Last Movie You Saw...

Daddy Cool - 0.5/5

Shameless ripoff and frame by frame copy of Death at a Funeral. Sick comedy. Very bad. Dont watch at all. Dont even waste your bandwidth.

Manorama six feet under (8.5) - Very good suspense thriller. IMHO, Abhay is the only sensible actor from Deol family. And, I just love Panag.. she's too pretty in the movie, a typical bourgeoisie housewife..

Kaminey - 7/10

Finally watched it... and seriously liked it.

First 20-25 mins were bit weird for me... it was bit of the effect of hype wearing out and guy ritchie movies resemblance kicking it. But then as the introductory part got over and main events started kicking in, it was really good.

In my opinion, Vishal Bharadwaj played out of his comfort zone of simple, straightforward movies and scored well in his first attempt. And yes, like I mentioned earlier and others before me, you can't help but notice the Guy Ritchie movies resemblance. I think for many, it would also be potential dealbreaker, as it would feel quite frankly been-there-done-that stuff. But If you are really willing to slide past your Hey-I-have-seen-this-kind-of-movie-before attitude and give it a chance you'll notice that VB had handled this very very skillfully and was able to add his own touch.

Overall, Kaminey was pleasant experience, so worth recommending.

PS: Did anyone else saw the trailer of Ishqiya?? The next upcoming flick by VB, feautring Arshad Warsi, Naseer and Vidya Balan? I sure wanna see that one.

No Smoking 9/10

+1 for trying to be Bollywood's equivalent to Memento :P Great movie though, once you figure it all out. Brilliant. India is not ready for this, but its a start!!

-1 for the finger attachment stupidity. That was no spiritual experience..

Million Dollar Baby - 9.5/10

Words can't describe it. I can't believe I didn't see this one before.... one of the many reasons that broke my heart. Hate you Mr. Eastwood.

The Manchurian Candidate (remake)

4 stars out of 5

A very good political thriller with some great acting by the lead characters(Denzel n meryl streep in particular)

Hehe that's one of Dirty Harry's nice flicks agreed! The ending was very very sentimental.

A hindi adaptation might perhaps make her take a revenge on that lady.

Pretty pathetic imo. You just need to see more movies.

Watched almost 3 movies back to back today..

1. The Quick and the Dead - A cowboy type movie starring Russell Crowe, Gene Hackman, Leonardo diCaprio and Sharon Stone. ;)

Casual time-pass movie. Rated 6.5/10

2. Philadelphia - Starring Tom Hanks and Denzel Washington.

A movie about the fight by an individual against prejudice against gays and HIV victims. A nice movie. Tom Hanks as usual does a great job as a HIV victim. Rated - 8/10

3. Romeo Must Die - A jet Li action movie.

Again just a time=pass movie. Rated 6/10

This is not the first time I've read similar remark from you.... and so far from your remarks I can understand that your and mine movie preferences are different. But you don't see me making stupid remarks on your choice, trying to prove that my choice is better than yours.

You have something to say about movie say it.. none of my business... stop making utterly foolish remarks about someone's personal preferences. It doesn't make you look any better than others, just more foolish.

Legend Of The Drunken Master : 10/10

Undoubtedly one of Jackie Chan's best...no wonder Akira Toriyama went on to write Dragonball after watching this movie :)

^^ this one I got to see..

I saw Kaminey this last weekend and really liked it....so 4/5 from me...BTW my parents went on Monday and they hated it...
