Wake up Sid - 9/10.

Surprisingly Ranbir, Konkana and Anupam Kher pulled out some good roles out of the movie. And so did some of the newcomers!

A low-budget movie but very good screenplay! Easily one of the good movies this year. :)

NOW ARE YOU SRSLY KIDDING ME?????????

Dude 90% of the movies are remake or screw up Hollywood movies here! and the other 10% goes to movies of parallel cinemas like YMI, Barah Aana, etc. And yet u say its going good??? 2ndly am no one to comment on Tamil movies.. i dont watch or bother or care about South movies.. i just see the songs for fun with the sound MUTE to just enjoy stupid meaningless dance w/o music its more fun and specially with those shiny shirts on lungis and belt on them and sports shoes on lungis.

Totally disagree with chiron.. no where even closer to give that many good movies.. i dont know what movies u really talking about (Bollywood and not Tollywood).

^^ plenty of good movies in both Hindi and Tamil this year. Nowadays, hollywood's output is getting more and more mediocre while our movies are definitely showing improvements in editing pacing etc.

EDIT: LOL @ all u guys who wasted money on WAKE UP SID and Retarded Kapoor. Good one on the expressions of Retarded Kapoor there iGO. He really has dumbfounded facial expression even when hez on news channel giving interviews...!! Hez a black spot in the face of Kapoor Empire. His dad Rishi Kapoor is still Rocking!! and so do Neetu Kapoor!

Lol cut me some slack! You dont seem to have a taste for Indian movies the way I seem to gather from most of your posts. :)

And maybe you're the only guy who dont seem to like his movies for some reason. Wake up sid is a decent movie, or at least to me!

No buddy, am not hindi movie hater.. i too watch the same amount of hindi movies as u do.. infact i do more than that. If i dint have taste for hindi movies, i wouldnt comment on it at all ;) I dont have taste neither interest in Tamil movies.. i never commented on that. Ofcourse thre are some good movies coming like Veer and stuffs.. but rest suck. Wake up Sid is useless coz its more or less alot like Lakshya, maybe just a few difference and twists here and there.. and Lakshya itself was an ok movie.. dont want same plot again.. why do indian movie makers 4get that? but however thanks to our Indian audiences.. who despite of seeing the same plot again they like the movie :S.

Am just commenting on Hindi movies coz am more into it than any of you guys. Not just watching hindi movies but other stuffs too. Difficult to explain that in words.

About his movies, well i dont hate him.. for his looks, but for his acting and his onscreen behaviour.. i've seen him face to face in person (which was co-incidence ofcourse) and believe me.. hez is really a jerk, he has the same dumbfounded face even in real life!! his voice is so much crapped out.. hez not really carrying that actor kinda personality.. and trust me u'll realise him when u see him in person and hear him in person. Maybe just coz hez a n00b or new commer and hasnt learned quite from his family which is very sad and unfortunate. May be he learns and transforms himself and becomes a bigger actor than his parents.. u never know. But at the moment its a bummer.

If you're referring to the slacker in Hrithik in Lakshya to a similar guy as Ranbir in Wake up sid, probably that is the only point of similarity between the two movies. Lakshya has a different plot altogether.

That'd be the last OT post from my side in this regard.

Echelon Conspiracy 6/10.. nice movie.. one of those typical American Hacking involved movie lol. But a nice plot of a cell fone and a nice concept cell fone showed in the movie.. Must watch ;) Plus the way he power downs the servers using a belt lol.
School of Scoundrels .. old but nice movie.. i got to see it now.
Apollo 13 again an old movie but got to see it now.. and i can never miss the story since i like the whole Man on Moon controversy :D
Johny English ... old and already seen it but saw it again.. Mr. Bean rocks lol
The Informers... i wasnt quite sure where the movie was heading.. but i surely enjoyed "The Stuffs" in the movie.. more or less took it as a softcore porn movie :p
After the Fox.. very old classic comedy and REAL acting and REAL Comedy legends. All must go for that movie.. its just tooo awesome. Cant stop laffing.
XMEN Wolvering... Awesome. Want more
17 Again ....again awesome.. wish Mathew Perry had a bigger role in the movie :(
Wat happened on the Moon (2000) Documentry ... Just awesome.
Life Partner ... Okayish comedy but a good plot of the movie
Me Shivajiraje Bhosale Boltoy .... errrmmm.. ahemm... "no comments, lets move to the next movie on my list"
Short Cut ... good and practical plot.. but stupid comedy and the way they tackle with the situation towards the climax
New York ... a nice movie.. but could have bn far more better with a far more better plot towards the climax

Inglorious Basterds - 9/10.

Great acting by Mélanie Laurent. Cold, chilling and a satisfying end to the movie is what makes it rank so high in my scale.

i think i forgot to post about watching In the Loop (2009)

very funny flick, with non-stop funny dialog (without being slapstick-ish like a cheap US production) like only the british can pull off.

The tv series it is based on (The Thick of It) isn't as funny though. Weird coz its usually the other way around.

In terms or remakes, Manorama 6FU did a pretty acceptable job. For a crime caper, Kaminey was as good as Rock'n Rolla. Jab We Met didn't linger unnecessarily on melodrama making it a lot more enjoyable than if the movie were to be made just a couple of years before.

The last two tamil movies I saw Subramaniyapuram and Pasanga were both great.

Kuruvi 2 out of 10

Pure punch dialog Torcher from Vijay

Unnaipol Oruvan 7 out of 10

A faithful remake of Bollywood's 'A Wednesday'. Almost all actors in the film did fantastic job (Mohan Lal in particular was awesome).

G. I. Joe - 8/10

High rating only because they kept the action flowing and the characters were interesting. Otherwise what could have been an average action flick, it had nice pace and good action. I would rather even say that it was way better than Transformers 2, as they avoided cheesy characters like Shia and Megan (I'm not talking about her sex appeal, but her acting abilities or rather her lack of acting abilities).

Overall, true to it's topic action fest. :)
