Rate the Last Movie You Saw...

^ Yep. I feel sorry for everyone who didn't see Avatar in a cinema hall dismissing it as overhyped or poorly written or whatever. Those guys missed what was probably the Star Wars of our generation :).

Viewing the movie in a completely dark room on a giant screen was surreal, the entire experience was nothing short of a milestone in movie viewing.
The full effect didn't set in right after I saw the movie, but now when I think back on it, for two and a half hours, I was in Pandora.

I just saw Law Abiding Citizen. It has one of the brutally satisfying stories, or atleast till the last 20 mins, after which is a bit of a letdown but dont let the low points take away the glory of the rest of the movie. I would say its a must watch.

By far the best for Gerard Butler.

8/10.

Very true.. Over-hyped or not, it was truly an awesome experience.

I beg to differ the movie for me was like any other Hindi movie..Bad guy acts like good then truns good and beats up other bad guy...POS...I went for the 100bucks show at INOX and I still believe that there would be better ways to spend your money. For me 3D is all a hype. Also I found that the colours were a bit off.

Left Bank(7/10)- No definite scary moments with gritty/gory scenes, but calmly-engrossing slowly-growing well-shot Belgian horror with several intentionally-left plot holes which leaves you thinking and wanting more.

Tell No One(9/10)-Best thriller/suspense movie watched in a long time...with rich sub-plots and very well-written script

The special effects were no doubt really great. My mouth was a big 'O' when the full 3D kicks in -- first time Pandora is encountered. For sure the bar has been raised. Story wise it was pretty simple and lame. Not the Star Wars of our generation for sure. That movie had much stronger themes and characters. Would Pandora generate any cults...Darth Vader, Dark Side, Han Solo (Boon for Ford), R2-D2, C-3PO, Chewbacca. Pandora created a world, Star Wars created a whole galaxy with much more complex issues and battles. People lapped up the later directed 3 prequels just to understand what change Anakin to Lord Vader...!

yeah true, I dont see Avatar gaining cult status like star wars. The only movie to have generated that kind of following this decade is probably Lord of the rings or Harry Potter.

^ To be fair, this is just one movie you're comparing to 6 movies.
Star Wars may have created many different planets (all of which look just like the different continents on ours btw :P), but Avatar created an entire ecosystem, culture and language from scratch.

I am a sucker for fantasy done well.

Me too. I am guessing because of that video Ricky posted ;)?

I found it entertaining and unpredictable but also ridiculously stupid. The movie basically assumes that the audience is full of idiots.
I am all about suspension of disbelief and meeting the writers halfway, but this was a bit too much, lol.

I prefer any miyazaki's full course meal to the cameron's over-cooked CGI crap

Now, that's what I call fantasy well done...

And yeah, for well crafted space-fi flick, I would rather pick startrek or firefly. Hell, I can even consider playing Mass Effect 2 another round for that.

"Dloaded" and tried watchign LSD.. the movie is not even worth rating 0/10.. deleted the movie rite on the spot. One of the reasons i dint waste my time money or b/w on such piece of Indian Wannabe crap which in the end doesnt even get closer to the so called "wannabe-ness".
