Rate the Last Movie You Saw...

And then this movie has already grossed 100 crores all over. Seems like big budget, marketing and hype is all needed now instead of good story and screenplay.
Seems so. While I haven't watched Pushpa, I heard a similar story about it. The first part is supposed to be good and the sequel utter trash, but it grossed over ₹1,000 crores.

And now the controversy is also going to give the movie enough recall to have people talk about it and eventually go and watch it.

L2: Empuraan - 6.5/10

Not as good as the first movie L1, but okayish.
Technically well-made film, There are excessive slo-mo shots and buildups, maybe mohanlal dhf might relate.
Plot wise, nothing interesting though.

They went with some bold plot lines, and it feels relatable to what is happening/happened in reality.
It's commendable how they’ve taken risks with such a bold narrative thread, that could potentially provoke a lot of backlash from certain groups.
Mohanlal backing out later and giving an indirect apology, removing scenes, is understandable to avoid consequences.

Absolutely LOVED how The Bullet Train (2022)-Bullet Train (2022) turned out to be this terribly funny rollercoaster of bad luck—especially for Brad Pitt’s character. Watching him stumble through one ridiculous situation after another, all while just trying to do a "simple job," had me cracking up more times than I expected. His terrible luck was like a character of its own—every time things seemed to calm down, boom! Something even more absurd happened.

What really blew my mind though was how the story was structured—it felt like a giant, chaotic domino effect. The way one event seamlessly triggered the next, almost like the butterfly effect in motion, was genius. I loved how every character boarded the train independently with their own agendas, and yet, they were all connected by this invisible thread. It made the whole plot feel like a web of fate and pure coincidence, tightly wound and brilliantly unraveled. Definitely one of those movies where you appreciate it more the second time around because you start to see how cleverly everything was set up

Deva (2025) - 7/10

An interesting story carried by a solid performance by Shahid Kapoor.

One thing though (DO NOT CLICK IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED THE FULL MOVIE)...
During the sniper setup on the eve of the Police Gallantry award ceremony Deva visits the ground at which the Gallantry awards are to take place the next day. There the green laser beam from the sniper rifle Deva has positioned far away is clearly visible which is aimed at the podium where Rohan will stand and give his speech. Deva checks if the shot will align perfectly or not. Now my question is... wouldn't that place where the award ceremony will be hosted the next morning be well guarded the night before as well? I mean it's a show for the police after all so the presence of security personnel would be but natural. However, no guards are there at all, it's a complete graveyard and Deva roves about in his hoodie without a worry of being spotted positioning the sniper laser.
