Reliance Jio Rollout

I hope this is the right thread to ask about Jio Fiber..

My friend is moving from local fiber connection to Jio Fiber.

So Jio guys said, for 100 Mbps plan, no hardware/installation charges on 3 months payment, which is (699+gst) x 3.
This info isn't clear on their website. Can someone confirm if the above info is true if you have taken jio fiber?

Yes its true total approx charge would be 2.4k inc gst thats all.
 
i have finally decided to shift to jio from airtel after a lot of consideration. I have very wierd issue with airtel where i don't get good internet connection in my hometown even though people near me get it.

I was working from home so it never bothered me too much but i think it's time now.

Just wanted to ask if there are any websites etc which are particularly blocked by jio? i remember reading something on reddit long time back.

PS: i am talking about cellular connection not the broadband. Will do a MNP.

I think the usual torrents and porn would be blocked, nothing that can't be bypassed using a VPN.
Also do make sure you have good 4G coverage in your area for Jio, ask other users.

With airtel you have an option for 2G/3G when 4G is not available but not with Jio. I moved from Jio to airtel due to this very reason as at my home in Delhi I'm barely getting signals for 4G for Jio, can't even do voice calls without call dropping.

Well from what I've experienced Airtel doesn't block any website (unless explicitly ordered by the govt) but Jio seems to block some porn sites. At first I thought it was weird when a friend first told me and on checking I found that it was true. But VPN does it's job pretty effectively.

Damn, that's a valid point. Airtel has 2g,3g and above. While Jio only has 4g and above. thanks, let me ask if anyone's facing calling issues.
 
Another point to note with JIO is that their upload speeds are pathetic. I get 70mpbs download and 800 kpbs upload. Airtel, I get like 50 mbps download and 12 mpbs upload.
 
has Jio ended the unlimited 5G usage?
I am getting data used notifications since yesterday. which use to be before 5G unlimited plans.

I checked my mobile and its has 5G signal only.
So maybe others here getting this message too?
 
With people spoilt with unlimited 5G, get ready to see some really stupid pricing from both Jio and Airtel.

Airtel also recently announced that they will be hiking the prices pretty soon. So those addicted to 5G speeds will have no option other than paying those prices.
