Finally my jio sim is activated. I'm on the move for the next few days, so it would be a good test of connectivity.

This is what I have observed -

1. Almost good coverage in metro and tier 1 cities.
2. Poor coverage on the move, especially when Vodafone, Airtel and Tata have good coverage.
3. Need to put the device into Airplane mode and back sometimes.

Question For those who got the sim under Samsung offer did u guys got through preview offer or just the initial 2gb 100 mins calling ?

Its similar to what you get with LYF handset, first the 2GB and then call CC and ask to activate the unlimited plan.

Has the iPhone offer been launched or is it yet to be launched?

Its on the way, said the store guy yesterday.

Can I generate a code from my friend's iphone 6 and get it (JIO Sim) ? Or do I need to carry his phone?

Just take the screen shot with you, the form is normal sim application and does not have dedicated referral code space, the just put that code on the application at corner, that`s it.

Speed test results.. Taken somewhere between two towns called Athur and kallakurichi.. Had traveled from Salem to pondicherry, all the time browsing and streaming. To my surprise, network was fair to good in most rural places. There were no areas without coverage. Network was fully strong in the towns.

This is the route I take almost once a week. In the past, I've had pathetic experience trying to get 3g, or even 2g data speeds in some places. Considering that, jio has been a massive upgrade in terms of connectivity and speeds. Will post more experiences later.

I didn't have to contact the customer care. After activation yesterday, my jio plan showed as 2gb data and 100 min calling available. Today, I logged in to my jio app, and it showed a button labelled "avail offer" under the banner promoting the unlimited preview offer. Just had to click it, and continue installing the missing jio apps (I hadn't installed jio money). Once done, my jio plan updated itself to show all unlimited plan. Just like @karankapoor mentioned..

Service in my area is degrading in my opinion & experience :(

I would concur. I used to get almost 15Mbps when I just enrolled myself and after a week't time, the speeds have dropped to 3Mbps. Even the YouTube stutters badly at 480p. This is for Gurgaon, Sector 46 (very much the city center)
