Reliance Jio Rollout

Well if you'd compare those postpaid plans above, I could see Airtel will double benefits after Jio launch.

They're making sure Potential customers who have plans to MNP to Jio should remain in their network for time being. You could say these infinity plans are for Airtel fanboy customers.

lol I am a airtel postpaid corp user from last 1 year, I sooo want to move away from their steep pricing. Though service is excellent , I have to say, but my bill is always 800-1100 in a 299 rental.

interestingly JIO tower was present in a village, 10 km away from my town hazaribagh.
While at the same time aircel tower was not present ( atleast my iphone 5c was not able to detect it ) even when aircel has been present for a long time.

The connectivity depends. A building near my house is the highest in the locality. It has all towers - Airtel, Vodafone, Idea etc meaning I have good connectivity to all of those. Except Jio.

I've got a friend who just bought a Redmi Note 3, but she's in a different town. Can I get her to generate a code on her phone to get the Jio SIM, and buy another 4g phone for myself? I don't mind buying a LYF phone just to get the SIM, but I'd rather not waste money on a handset I'm not going to use.

Yes, you can get the sim from the screen shot obtained from friends mobile... Just tell the store guy that you got it on Samsung phone and the phone is with family member at home. They might ask for additional details like mailing the code to their id etc, just follow... They deny when there is a lot of crowd at store so better go in afternoon when there will be no rush, worked for my friends... If the guy is free you can activate the sim instantly, ask him to activate the unlimited plan immediately...

Lyf phones are cheap and good if you intend to use it as hotspot and with the unlimited offer.

Is the preview offer available for Redmi Note 3?

I called the store a few minutes back and asked if I could avail the offer on the Note 3, and the guy told me I could.

I was wondering if I can connect the LYF smartphones to my router using bridge mode. I need file sharing on my home devices. Has anyone done this?
Or can we use the Jio SIM in a 4G modem?

Yes, I am using a Dlink 505/TP Link 3020 with ROOTer firmware. Doing double/triple NAT, but net works fine. Cant say the same for torrent, though thats not needed for me.[DOUBLEPOST=1470736581][/DOUBLEPOST]If I could find a way to do USB tethering and LAN bridging, then would be great. Though....

I am working it the other way, using the Lyf handset hotspot with Neatgear repeater router... Gives good coverage and speeds for torrents as well...

I went to 3 Reliance Ditigal store with code generated on my Note 3 and they straight away said No.

Where are you located?

Reliance Jio SIM from early Lyf handsets now works on any 4G phone

"We tried Jio SIM from Lyf Water 1 smartphone that recently got Jio Lyf Preview extension, and data and called worked fine on iPhone SE and other 4G handsets. This however did not work on another Lyf handset that did not get the preview offer extension but other early Lyf customers are expected to get the extension soon"
