Reliance Jio Rollout

@Vagabond may help you as he is the one who knows how to activate it on a non promo phone. As far as it goes with me I have no idea how to activate the offer on a non promo phone

Edit- you can do one thing put your simcard in any Samsung lg device call Jio customer care from that # and ask them that you had exhausted the 2gb initial data and forgot to activate the free unlimited preview offer they might activate it from their end. Give it a try.

This is activation issue. You must have received an email on your registered email address to activate account. Do that first. Only after that you will be able to login to Myjio and will be able to activate that offer.

If you have not received activation code. Wait for it.

@hotshot05
Offer sims get stuck to 2GB limit if you do not use the same handset which was used to generate the code. Jio is tracking IMEIs for all purposes.
Use your sim in same handset that was used to generate the code.
Install Jio apps (using sim/other wifi). Reboot the phone. Now open myJio and it will show something like 'avail offer'. Touch it and then your 3 months pack is activated.
Even if it's not activated, call the customer care on 198 using same handset, and ask them to activate it from back end.
You have to show them, you are using the same handset.

PS: many loopholes have been patched now.

I would disagree. Its been many days now that my initial 2gb got exhausted and i am on the unlimited preview offer. All the while i am using it on an iPhone 6S. The only time i used it on Samsung which was an s6 and only on the first day to activate the preview offer.

I think the preview offer continues to work as long you use the sim on a VoLTE device after activating it for the first time. Once if you switch to a non volte 4G device it gets deactivated.

I put my SIM in a Asus Zenphone Laser and was able to sign in by pressing Skip option. But that pop up did not come.

But after this, I am able to use the Sign In option.

Put SIM back in my Redmi Note 3 and used Sign In option 5-6 times. No luck yet. Have not seen that pop up yet!

In which handset did you generate the code?

As far as in know you will not get that pop up or avail offer option on a non Samsung or lg phone. I would say use your colleague handset to activate the the preview.

Edit- Try activating it on the Asus phone as it's now part of the preview offer.

Samsung activated SIM cards are unlocked for all purposes.

Looks like u paid for the simcard[emoji6], Dint you ?
Yes I did pay Rs2900/- for the device but that is also getting reimbursed from my company. But thats not the point. Today its free. It wont be like this always. Think unbiased.

I got my "Ready for televerification" sms at around 4.30pm. I verified data services by calling the 1800xx no from a Aircel SIM.

Used up my 2GB data. Now I am unable to activate the unlimited preview offer.

I installed MyJio and all related apps. Tried to register my Jio number from PC. Could register but could not activate my account as did not receive any activation email.
Switched off data. Launched MyJio from the MyJio app list. At the top it stated "No Internet Connection". Turned on data and then clicked on skip (It is supposed to login automatically if Jio SIM is present in phone. This is the trick mentioned everywhere if one does not receive activation email). But instead of getting logged in, I am getting the below error message.

If I try to sign in using phone no and password, it says "Account not activated"

Can someone help?

I have tried both MyJio 3.2.05 and the latest 3.2.08 version app.

@nimod, @karankapoor, @onlyravi, @Pratik.Sampat
Try to verify your email first. (Clicking on a link sent in your mail id). After that if you have installed all apps then automatically the 90days offer is activated. Else call their helpline. We had to do it thru the helpline for a S6 edge.
If you are connected to a JIO network by wifi or using a Jio SIM in the mobile for data just click Skip and it will automatically log you in.

@hotshot05

Can you tell under which scheme you brought the sim ?

@karankapoor is right if you have Samsung phone, first thing you need to do do the tele verification using the same sim in volte phone, doing it from another number only activates the data (may be its only meant for jio fi, the bundled sim only offers data with it).

AFter tele verification one need to install the my jio app and other jio apps, register using the new number, get otp and enter email to verification, once you get email verified the account is now active to login to my jio. After login one should able to see preview offer activated message on the screen.

In your case I am honestly not sure what went wrong. Please share more details about it.

Borrow it again for few hours.
And do the steps I mentioned.
Let us know if that helps..

Got it a activated using the Samsung J7 through which I had generated the code.

@Vagabond I had generated the code using someone else's Samsung J7. I was using the SIM in my Redmi Note 3.
I think they have closed the loophole through which non Samsung/LG people could activate the offer.

Does anyone know how to generate a new code in that same J7?

I think you should have activated the plan using the J7 only, once done use it in RN3.

If its possible to get that J7 again for some time, insert sim in it and install my jio and activate the unlimited plan, even if it won`t work call CC, they can`t deny you in that case.

Once activated it should work in any phone.

Activated the unlimited plan that way only. Inserted SIM in that J7 and got the offer in the banner.

Any idea by when Asus Zenphone 2 Laser will be able to generate Jio SIM barcode?
Yesterday someone mentioned that they are able to see that option in Asus Zenphone Zoom. But in my Zenphone 2 Laser, I was not able to see that button even at 2am. Will go home and try again.
Zenphone 2 Laser is present in the list of supported phones.

EDIT - Was able to generate code in Zenphone 2 Laser. Apparently my broadband internet was not working when I was posting here. Saw the offer in the banner sometime later.

Since the last 2 days the internet has begun to suck on Jio 4G. Some sites don't open. There are ever increasing periods of no data transfer, even though the device is online.
I called the helpdesk, and they asked me to clear my browser cache, restart the computer, and update my software. When I said I'd done that before calling I was told that their systems are down and to call back in 3 hours.
I don't think they're ready for commercial deployment yet.

Agree, observing slow speeds since afternoon. I guess its sudden increase in customer base, could be the pre-plan to check the same but prior to that they gave us free stuff that we won`b be complaining much about.

Lyf phones are brought before all the code thing meaning most of people have brought atleast 1.5 months earlier. All code user got it free so nobodu would even care to complain, leaves Jio fi people - the only thing I observed is they are in band 40, might be on different bands that cell phone uses.

These are just my thoughts based on experince using all above 3 with me ;)

A local dealer in my locality distributed Jio sims to anyone carrying a 4g handset.
I suppose it's being done unofficially.

You need to look for a local dealer in your locality with Jio sign board.

But will we be able to activate unlimited preview offer in any handset?
