^ Since its a 3 months free trial, we might know tariffs after that i.e official launch. 100mbps looks to be the minimum speeds as per the above genuine pic and leaks before few days..
 
According to sources, the company will in the initial stage offer 4G dongles, as well as 'mi-fi devices'. The 'mi-fi' devices will allow users to access 4G on any 'wi-fi'-enabled phone - even the feature phones priced at around Rs 2,500 - thereby obliterating the need to buy expensive 4G handsets. Besides, each mi-fi device could connect up to 10 handsets simultaneously.

When contacted on the mega plans, a spokesperson for Reliance Jio said: "We are currently in the process of conducting our service field trials across multiple towns and cities, as well as in-house. During this period, we are introducing our services to small groups of people who will offer us feedback, so that we develop a robust service platform and then scale up our services."

Sources say Reliance Jio is looking to offer on its dongles average speeds of 16-18 mbps - about thrice as much as 3G dongles - though the technology could offer a speed of up to 50 mbps.

In the second phase of the launch, the company will also offer fibres to homes or offices which could offer a speed of up to 100 mbps and even run television programming. It is laying a pan-Indian inter-city fibre-optic network and putting up intra-city fibre optics in some key cities.

When they were testing it in bhopal the connection was very unstable, are you facing any sudden speed drops?

That is a sorry attitude, and quite honestly pretty much in line for the effect all the FUP laden companies wanted us to inculcate.

Why do we have to feel sorry for ourselves and compromise for anything less than current global standards?

While 1k is indeed sorry, we can only hope that they should be raising the limit from 1Mbps onwards. I hope failtel and others will get into some kinda price/FUP war and customers should benefit.

Because you cant suddenly jump from 1-2 mbps to 25 mbps it requires a lot of investment in infrastructure and i can kind of understand why companies are not ready to make that kind of investment. The average indian will not pay more than 1000 for a broadband connection. Thats less than $20. While investment cost in india is more than that in us. How will they recover the cost?

This wasnt exactly the crux of your earlier reasoning. But anyways.
iinm, there were reports from some person working at VSNL, that the amount of bandwidth India purchases, more than 50% goes unused. That is, these ISP people dont release the bandwidth for the consumers. Secondly, another report did mentioned how BSNL is purchasing the bandwidth at unjustified rates. The plan that i have with me for BSNL is pretty much equivalent to what Airtel is offering (cost, usage and FUP). So i can extend the same scenrario to these pvt companies as well (Bandwidth wastage and/or unjustified expenses). Prices/Tariffs should have been far less.

As far as i understand, it is pretty much like artificial inflation achieved by hoarding.

We have the infrastructure, we have the bandwidth. Only that these people at ISPs want us to keep purchasing at exorbitant prices so that they can reign in more profits.

Reliance Jio has invested a lot, while the investment is huge in the wireless broadband, you cannot expect plans like 10Gb for 100.

In wired segment, 100mbps to 10mbps or 25mbps Post FUP is definitely possible for that matter but remember they are in the initial stage and you cannot expect such plans just now. Let the tariff war begin and you'd see 25-50mbps as FUP speeds.

Present infrastructure of any company providing services through fiber can support easily up to 100mbps even Post FUP. Bandwidth charges are going to fall in an year from the launch of Jio. Even Reliance Telecom took time to cut down call tariffs in 1999 First Free Incoming later Call rates were completely down in 2002 after 3 years.

Mr Mukesh has invested massively in this Jio Infocomm thing it seems, and they really cannot afford this project to go bust.
I am hopeful price will come down a little bit, and we ll see all types of permutations with the plans after few weeks/months.

Is there any procedure a person can initiate to avail the introductory offer? My residential sector has the basic wiring and installation of the routing boxes completed.
 
If you compare with current ISP plans... I guess cheapest cost to speed plan is Reliance's thunder plans with 599 for 2mbps and no FUP...
Speeds like 20mbps from ACT is available @1149 in Bangalore...
So I guess there is no way to expect 100GB FUP with 100mbps speeds for 1k range... It will be definitely more costly...
