Let me know if you get your hands on any Samsung 970 Evo Plus in 500GB and 100% health. The price of the 2TB doesn't seem bad but not sure what to do with 2TB. Thought it would be safer to get different storage for different uses. Faster 500GB for primary partition and slower but cheaper 2TB SSD or harddisk for media storage.

If budget is not an issue and you are going to use it as a main drive, always go for a higher storage variant. TBW on 2tb will be 4x of 500gb and so will the cache size. It will have higher speeds for more amount of data.

If you are going to use the drive extensively, theoretically a 2TB drive will last as long as 4 500GB drives with higher speeds for 4x the data.

Yes I understand. There's also the piece by piece upgrade path. That too is a concern for me at the moment.

Oh boy
I am doing the same. One or two parts at a time upgrade.
Now yet Cabinet, PSU and 3x120mm ARGB or RGB fans upgrade left.
I have to buy the USB 3.0 to USB type c front panel connector converter or adapter before I assemble my new mobo.
