I know two men that carry their note 1's in that manner, top shirt pocket. Not in the pants pocket. Ok, if you always wear a shirt.

Was discussing this with a person that recently got the Z ultra. if you wear dockers it fits in a pant pocket. Its the moving around and sitting down where it becomes a bit uncomfortable. Ideal way to carry Z ultra is in inner coat pocket. This person told me he always used two hands for operation even with the S4. It got me thinking whether a note is worth it or not.

One hand is nice but a bigger screen is better, provided you can carry it around comfortably. There are loads of people here that have a note 2 and are very happy with it. if you are browsing the web then screen is in landscape orientation most of the time which means two hand operation anyway. Same with gaming. Who here plays games with one hand ?

So what is the big deal with one handed operation anyway.

Whats wrong with exynos phones

Samsung does not release proprietary blobs for Exynos SoC's, which eventually results in poor after market development. S2 will not get an official update after 4.1 however, CM developers have already released 4.3 nightlies for the device. A stable CM 10/10.1/10.2 will never be released due to missing blobs.

Why CM is so important? 1. Updates until the device reaches the end of it's life cycle. 2. No bloatware 3. Choice to use the apps that I want to use for a specific thing. 4. Tmobile theme engine ;)

Note 3 looks slightly bigger in the phone arena comparison.

if you can handle the Z1, the note 3 ain't that much bigger.

That is one of the things I hate about the Sony design. Such big bezels in today's day and age aren't acceptable at all.

So are we getting the Exynos or the Snapdragon 800? I played with a demo piece in Heera Panna today, and it had the 4K resolution recording option in the video menu, indicating the Snapdragon variant.

That is probably the imported piece with 4K recording but from what i read, India is exynos.

Yeah, the demo models are n9005 but we will only get n9000. The demos have no imei and cannot be used as phones.

Samsung has demo models but nothing for sale yet. Sony has Z1 for sale with lots of inducements but no demo model yet :|

See this post for differences in RAM handling between Exynos vs S800.

We are doomed, we are going to get the problematic exynos processors in Note3

Does this matter to a normal (non forum, non tech savvy) consumer ? If no then it will sell a lot as general people probably don't care about the processor inside.

yes, you are right. Normal (Non-Forum) people don't give a Da*n about the processors.

If you look at the RAM handling exynos is better than S800.

Exynos in the Note 3 will allow HMP, hetrogenous multi-processing via a software update. So unlike S4 which was dual quad, note 3 will be true octa with all 8 cores. Clearly the exynos will be much faster than the S800 in this case.

Exynos had heating issues with the S4, it took time but has greatly reduced since. Since this is a new exynos chip in the n3 it will also have similar teething problems. Nothing insurmountable though. Just means lots of updates for the first 2-3 months until things settle some. So wait a little longer, prices will lower too. No biggie.

Note 2 was a hit, i see no reason for note 3 not to sell well. maybe not as well as note 2 as there aren't significant reasons for note 2 users to upgrade.

@karankapoor, as @blr_p said the S4 exynos has heating problems (I own one so I know how it is) and the new one which is used in N3 will also have some problems because frankly speaking Samsung is testing exynos Octa-Cores and we are the labrats.

@blr_p, yes I agree with you on not upgrading my Note2 to Note3

Don't knw w how much ur phones get hot im too using one with exynos it does get hot when i play game on it but over all its normal all the time, As for the heating issue all the phones get hot while u play games, Too add i really don't think that's such a big issue/problem with to say that its a problem.

The problem is not that it gets hot while playing games (which I don't btw) but while charging or while talking for 10 mins it gets hot.

@smnrock I am a average user and i persnally cannot comment which is better or not u can check online reviews for that, For me even a 3 year old phone with a single core proccy will do, I did asked this question how snap is better then exynos really want to know.

@paarkhi Maybe ur phone has some kind problem if it gets hotter while charging or when on calls, Btw which model u are currently using.

After so many updates it STILL does this !?!

No way to under clock for simple activities like browsing or talking ?
