Yeah, congrats :)
Hope you'll get used with that size. Love the back cover, this time Samsung at least had the brain up cover up the actual plastic.
One hand is nice but a bigger screen is better, provided you can carry it around comfortably. There are loads of people here that have a note 2 and are very happy with it. if you are browsing the web then screen is in landscape orientation most of the time which means two hand operation anyway. Same with gaming. Who here plays games with one hand ?

So what is the big deal with one handed operation anyway.
Well that's your opinion, with which I don't agree. I always used my N2 with one hand. And I don't play games on mobile phone, so there's nothing on that for me.
The big deal with one hand is when you're outside, inside even my desktop feels small :p Main purpose and usage of a mobile phone for me are the outside things, but inside. When I'm resting on the couch or bed, I don't care if I have a huge cell phone or not, the laptop is there for that job. It feels so much comfortable to hold and carry a mid sized device (S4 is almost perfect for me), to talk, to send messages, to use the GPS, to take a quick photo, to browse the net a little on portrait, stuffs which are actually meant to be done, rather than playing games, etc etc. With the N2 I did those things too, but always a panic that my phone might fall, it was tremendously uncomfortable needles to say. Anyway, if one has huge hands then it might not be a problem. But for me, Note series are done.

This is why i said use two hands. What's so difficult with doing that. Where is the panic of dropping the phone in that case. Or are you referring to taking it in & out of your pocket say and being afraid of it dropping.

Why this insistence on one handed operation. How much can you really read in portrait on the S4 ? The font size is tiny. Shift to lansdscape and you can actually read stuff. Basically you are using it in portrait because you want one handed operation. That's what your previous phone allowed you to and its the most comfortable way for you.

My hands are not big enough to reach all corners of the N2 with one hand. As i said earlier i got the idea from someone that uses a Z ultra, so thats even bigger than a Note. When i first heard people mentioning one handed operation i thought they were right, i'm no longer sure of that any more. The screens are just as big but the weight has come down. last yearsversion might have been unwieldy, but what about the current ones.

168gm vs 183 gm, just under 10%, noticeable just about. You admitted faux leather gives better grip compared to hyper glaze. A case would add a little more width for grip with the n2. Note 2 seemed to big for me at the time, n3 is different.

You didn't get my point. I am not insisting others to use with one hand, I find it way more comfortable to use a phone with one hand. Now it's kinda a meaningless question that why do you use a phone with one hand when you have two hands? Well we eat with one hand, what's the meaning of that? We write with one hand and I can go on but I am sure I have made my point. Also I use portrait mode on S4 practically all time when I am outside, for the tasks I have mentioned it's perfectly fine to use a phone in portrait. Sending a message/email via Swype, seeing a location on a map, calling someone etc etc these tasks are rather awkward in landscape actually.
As I have said before, if one is happy with the size of N3 or N2 they 'should' use it, it's not for me. I find a mobile phone should be used with one hand, when outside, why would I care about what others are using! It was a one way journey for me from 2007 to 2012, gradually the screen size and physical size wise, it started with X1 then ended with Note 2, Wave, 5800 XM, lots of hTC, Omnia HD, Galaxy S, S2 and maybe some others I don't remember in between, I got settled with everything, tried my best with Note 2 too for 7 months, then found that I am torturing myself and sold it.
But yeah one thing I do believe that at one point Samsung (or any brand) has to restrict the sizes of these things, in this rate N5 or N6 should be around 7" and even if it comes without any sort of bezel that'd still be awkward. I am not a person who will hold a disgusting looking phablet or whatever Samsung calls it on my ear. S4 is perfect for me, and I will look at S5 if it comes at same size or max 5% larger, if not I will downgrade if needed. One thing I don't get, one should remember that our hands are not increasing in size, how long could this 'increase in size' craziness go, it will end at point anyway.

I got your point, but i think the N3 challenges it whereas the N2 or G Pro could not. There are a number of people here that support one handed operation. These same people do the same with tabs too, 7,8 & 9.7. Well i'm one of the 10.1 landscape people. So this here debate is a landscape vs portrait thing first & foremost. The one arm bandits vs the ambidextrous :D

See, there used to be a time when 4.3 was the right size, then it grew, 4.5, 4.7, 5.0, 5.2. 5.7. How did that happen ? they made it easier to switch. The arguments against got weaker.

I think hand size does not matter, the people with smaller hands ie ones with the handbags will get a bigger screen. So it isn't how big the hands are but how easy is it to move around and carry such a device. About holding this phablet to your face, that everybody seems to be so self-conscious about, check this out from sony, they offer a tiny wirelss handset.

The ultra or whatever phablet (tablet even) never need come out of your handbag or pocket or wherever you put it to answer or make a call. In fact with such a device you can actually browse while talking and be much more comfortable instead of holding it up to your face, browsing and going back and forth. So much easier right. screen in front of your face, headset at ear level.

The eating analogy is trivial to counter, you eat with one hand provided something ELSE is supporting your plate. Now if you were holding it with the other hand then it comes to the same. Besides if you eat with a fork & knife then you're using both hands anyway :)

Messaging is easier with two hands like typing, maps in landscape are bigger. Calling someone i agree is done in portrait.

I get what you're saying about the S4, nothing is more comfortable to hold in one hand that too for a long time. But i think you want to get away with the biggest screen size possible that you can be comfortable with. What i find is people saying is real difficult to read on such a small screen for long. Landscape makes that easier, a slightly bigger screen even more.

Did you feel cramped going from the note 2 screen back to s4. Or was that disadvantage overtaken by comfort and ease of holding s4. 7 months is a long period to try and get used to something, if you cannot do it then its not worth it.

Yes sir, that disadvantage was definitely overtaken by lot more comfort and easiness of carrying the S4 over the N2. When I purchased the N2 I had set my mind that I would use it for 18 months at least, but day by day, that size and that weight too was getting annoying. And I send a lot of emails/messages per day, and I use Swype, which I am using since it's launch from Froyo I think, and I find it super fast and easy to do on portrait, not landscape, landscape should be better for tappers, like SwiftKey or something, but I am not a tapper. Also when I am driving then the maps on landscape seems easier to notice because we are moving at Y axis, and on portrait the Y axis is longer or has more area coverage than X.

On note 2 right now. Is it really worth switching over to the Note 3 ??

P.S. Note 3 landing cost is around 46k. Can sell off Note 2 for 20k. Any suggestions ??

The answer lies in the question that what really are you expecting from the Note 3 ? It is worth if you think it is worth. Clear your expectations and then we can suggest.
But if you want just the latest and greatest then go for Note 3 (and Note 4 later next year and so on).

Using it since the launch.....to tell u the truth there is nothing great about this phone....more or less both phones are same note 2 and 3. Look for what u cannot do with nite 2 and can do with n3 my answer to this question is note 2 still feeds my needs but n3 is the latest thats the reason i bought it.

That is what I experienced when I used the N3 yesterday. Doesn't seem to justify its case especially when 4.3 will be available for N2 in a couple of months. I'll put down a few layman observations while using the N3:
1. New S-pen has been redesigned but I still find the 'button' on the new & old one difficult to use / press.
2. Also it has be near the screen to activate any action. Had to flip it again and again to just to make sure I was pressing the button.
3. Leaving that aside the nib on the new pin is definitely better and has a better feel to it
4. Works on menu and back button. Such a relief.
5. Couldn't get the hang of the new S Note in those 15-20 mins. (Apparently I have been using s-note extensively esp due to that pop up note which is activated as soon as you take out the S-Pen. Really handy to take quick notes. In fact sometimes even better & faster than a having a pocket diary & pen.)
6. Camera seems to be nice though if I recall I might have hardly got 20-30 pics printed in the last year captured by N2. Other usage was uploading to social networking sites et al. Camera therefore is not on my priority list.
7. Screen is really good though. Very crisp.
8. Design wise it seems better than N2 definitely.
9. Touch wiz is almost the same (new multitasking, minimizing apps, etc) except for the Android 4.3 additions. (New gallery, cam, settings, etc.)
Not able to recall anything else as such worth pointing out.

Shamesung. http://blog.gsmarena.com/samsung-ga...osts-chipsets-for-select-benchmarks-by-20-50/

Using a CPU monitor, Ars found out that certain benchmarks are detected and the CPU is put on full throttle – all four cores run at 2.26GHz all the time. When a non-benchmark app is run, when the app is idling three cores are off and the fourth one is at 300MHz.

To get around the issue a special version of Geekbench 3 was created – since benchmark detection depends on the app’s package name, Ars renamed the package and the CPU showed its regular “three cores off, other one at 300MHz” idle behavior. The list of benchmarks that are treated specially also includes, GFXBench, Benchmark Pi, Linpack, Quadrant and other popular titles.

And while the CPU monitor doesn’t catch it, there’s more going on than can be explained by disabling the idle mode of the processor. Geekbench 3 scores are 20% higher with the artificial boost, while Linpack (also a renamed version) showed a whopping 50% difference. Without the boost, the benchmarks are around the LG G2 scores, where you would expect them to be. In all fairness the Note 3 does have some advantage remaining, only it’s not as big as initial tests suggest.
