Samsung Galaxy S Family Thread

Hi,

As I have posted earlier, I am new to android world, just got the Galaxy S I9000 a couple of weeks back. But I faced some weired problem today, while receiving a call, my mobile screen messed up totally, the screen was something like you see in TV when the signal messes up, I was able to hear and talk during the call but rest of the things git hanged totally. I tried to shut down and start again but I was unable to do so. Then, I removed the battery and connected again. Now, everything was ok. What type of problem is this? Is it something serious issue and I should contact customer care?

Also, the phone gets heated up within half an hour of playing Asphalt 5, BI2 etc and the heat is high. Right now also during this issue, I felt that the mobile has heated up. Can anyone help me out regarding this matter?

Note - I am using the stock SGS with no customizations. It came with Froyo.
 
Hi guys, planning on buying good bluetooth headset for music and phone calls....

How is the arctic sound P311 headset quality?? Are there any other good ones within the range of 2k to 3k??
 
Guys need to update my S2, currently on 2.3.3 KE4.

Im fed up with the battery life.

Please help me as i have no idea how to do it. Dont want to root it.

Ive heard that 2.3.4 is also leaked..both KG1 and KG2. No idea how to go ahead with the update.
 
How about CM7 nightly? I am on nightly #71 on my captivate running 2.3.5 coupled with glitch kernel V11 ML (Middle Leak) Current latest nightly version for vibrant seems to be nightly #69 released on 29/07. I do not know if that runs 2.3.4 or 2.3.5.

All you need is go to Login - www.SamFirmware.com, register and Login..

You'll find I9100XXKG3 ## under Europe Firmwares. Download it (password is : samfirmware.com)
How to flash -
1. Extract the rar file you've downloaded.
2. If you've 3 different files + ext4 pit + odin,
i. Put your phone into download mode
ii. Open Odin and then connect your phone to computer
iii. Configure odin as given in screen below :

PDA goes for file with name CODE / PDA
PHONE goes for file named with MODEM / PHONE
CSC goes for file named CSC
3. OR if you've a single PDA/CODE file + Odin in .rar package use this configuration on Odin

Thanks got Nightly build #68 on 2.3.5 -> I tried the google apps from cyanogen, inspite of getting it from their site. The gmail sync thing also doesn't work.
 
@sharktale1212: The gmail sync works fine for me. I had trouble when I downloaded the gapps from cm7 forum in XDA. So I downloaded the gapps from external website. Did you also flash the gapps using clockwork mod recovery.

Also did you update the gmail version to 2.3.5 using market.
 
Yeah got it to work finally. On my first run of the market, I got option for downloading the google apps.

Yesterday, tried the "Juwe's Smart Edition v5.2 JVQ" Rom. The rom's look is amazing, no force closes (had too many fcs on CM7 especially for Samurai Vengenace) and the asthetic feel and speed is amazing.
I might try GingerZen_RC1 today.

Please share your experience after trying gingerzen. Well I just tried installing it over Cm7 but it didnt work and stuck on kernel logo. It seems need to odin back to eclair and then flash it. Now I am back to CM7, if you find it good let us know will give it one more try.
