The offer is only for those who buy it through vodafone..

why else will they provide an offer specific to some models?
See the terms and conditions on their site - http://www.vodafone.in/documents/pdfs/samsung_galaxy_sII_tnc.pdf , You can buy it from any authorized Samsung dealer.

Nothing for me. Did you change any setting inside the phone or something?
I've just been to the Vodafone Store in Mumbai and spoke to two executives there. One of them said that you can buy Galaxy SII from any retail outlet in Mumbai and after inserting the Vodafone (Prepaid) Sim, your promo offer would get activated within 48 Hours (You dont have to do any code dialing or customer calling, it happens automatically).

Another person, his story differs only slightly though, said that you need to buy the Phone from select Retail Outlets in Mumbai (Upon asking, how do I get to know about this "select" retail outlets, he couldn't give a proper response)

So there you go, if you're on Prepaid, you could wait for another 48 hours and if you're on Postpaid, then you need to visit the Vodafone Store to get your offer activated.

Thanks. I guess I'll wait some more.

@REY619

I bought my SGSII today at 2.30 and inserted my Vodafone Prepaid SIM card and switched it on (3G had been already activated on this SIM long back cause I have used a iPhone 3GS and 4 earlier) then I went to watch a movie at 3.00 and by the interval I already had 3 SMS's from Vodafone which said "We have recieved a request.." "Promotion Vodafone offer....will be activated within 24 Hours" but the 3G services had been activated at that moment itself. I didn't send any message or did any customer calls, it all happened automatically. (Also the store as claimed by one of the salesperson was a Samsung's authorised outlet)

Great. For me its been a heck of a hassle to get it activated since past 5 days. Calling to CC is of no help either, they say there is no such offer, and some who know about it, say the offer is valid for GS2 bought from Vodafone stores only. :(

Instead of calling their CC (99% of them don't know about this offer) walk into their Store, these people would surely work out something. If you live in Mumbai, then I'd advice you to visit the Vodafone Store at Saki-Vihar near Powai at around 10 in the morning (cause otherwise it would be atleast 1 hour wait before your number turns up) these people are well aware and really helpful.

This is ofcourse B.S

Even for postpaid you dont have to do any visits.

For my friend on postpaid vodafone connection.it was activated automatically.

Their is no restriction on where to buy and all.vodafone recognised sgs 2 by your imei.

Did any one tried

GALAXY S2 - Samsung - Cell Phones

If yes could you please point me to a seller out here or an ebay link in India or a shop in Mumbai which sells good case

Because importing is costing me too much for a case

And have any one tried Brainwavz M2 with the beast please post a review of the combo

@Motodude Yes, I am using the SGP Ultra Capsule. Ordered from their official site sgpstore.com. It costed me Rs.1387 including shipping. Received in 7 days flat, no custom charges etc. Btw you also get Steinheil Ultra Crystal screen protector for free with SGP cases, which when bought seperately are worth $13.99, so I think that's a good deal.
