I feel 39k is on higher side, he is definitely cashing on exclusivity... Wait till mid-June atleast, should get 16GB one for 36k, and you could buy 64GB sdcard from the saved 3k Rs...

Galaxy S III launched in India at Rs.43,180
Samsung Galaxy S III launched in India for Rs. 43,180

OMG :O They are competing with Apple for the costliest phone title too ;)
The pricing is madness IMO. All hail HTC for the saner pricing. Never thought it would ever come down to this though!

Street price is a bit saner though. Selling on ebay for Rs.38,990 with Samsung India warranty.

The cheapest seems to from Buytheprice - Rs.38,290. How reliable are they?
Samsung Galaxy S3 - Buy Online in India for Rs.38,290 as on 31st May 2012 - Price, Features, Reviews, Specifications, Photos, Videos | BuyThePrice.com

Buytheprice is reliable I guess, many have purchased from them here. Also I think some flat 10% off offer is there for ICICI customers, so that makes it a sweet deal.

EDIT: I think it's flat 5 percent off not 10

42500 or 38500 ..., all these rates are insane.
The specs mentioned are not really worth that price.
I would NEVER go for it at this price. 32-33k is the max.
Like #DarkAngel said... Sammy is competing with Apple on the price front also ...
I just think its stupid.
BTW Their webcast was live from y'day evening. You could see their presenters practicing... live... how dumb is that....

Just hoping that they gain their senses and reduce the price else its gonna go the Galaxy Note way. When the sales really dipped they started bundling freebies with the Note rather than bringing down the price.

Well if HOX can be priced for around 35 so samsung can easily price S3 around 36-37k . AFAIK Galaxy note was doing fairly well even before the offer.

Stupid Samsung *facepalm*

Please do not go the apple way.
US$ at 56+

SGS3 UK pricing is just marginally more than SGS2 launch pricing. Very light few 10s of pounds more.
It is our currency that has fallen substantially. Over Rs.12 in 1 year. And it has fallen against most other foreign currencies. This is why prices are touching high 30s at launch. Otherwise it would have been mid to low 30k range like SGS2.

Anyway, the best offer I got till date is 37750 for June 5th delivery at local store. Contemplating about it. If I sell my Note or One X, I might go for it.

^^ Why this bias?? If I am not wrong I had even heard that the US versions will be LTE but the one launched today in INDIA was 3G and not LTE.
I hope mobiles dont go the laptop way.... upgrade ur cell phone's RAM :D
Imagine a RIP JAW series RAM module for your cell phone ... ha ha ha
And if that happens then the next to follow will be liquid coolers for ur cell procy ... ROFL...

US version is completely different.
It will carry Dual core snapdragon S4 chip.
We get quad core exynos. This holds up well against S4 compared to say tegra 3.

And LTE is irrelevant to most of us at this point. By time we get pan India LTE, we will have Galaxy S5

The thing bugging me is the US/Canada version of S3 will have 2GB RAM !! Please say it doesn't matter much
My friend is heavy user & has SGS 2.
Still he is not able to use 1 Gb ram fully.
Highest Ram usage in a game is upto 350-400mb.
I think 2Gb ram is useless & just an added specification added to show off as Krait procy is used instead of powerful Exynos !!

what i cant understand is Samsung stated that its selling SGS3 for 43k in India and flipkart is selling it for 39k(preorder).. Can someone explain to me please?

Firstly, Samsung is selling SGS3 for 43k by giving freebies worth ~3.5k. So ultimately cost for only(without those goodies) SGS3 comes to ~39k.
Secondly, everybody knows that only handful people are going to buy SGS3 @ 43k hence most online shops have priced it between 38-39k.
Also IMO most local dealers will sell it around 37k.

Ya believe me.... Many ppl must have seen this. I could see their host and even Ranjit Yadav and the other guy practicing their speeches... yday morning....
Inspite of all this practice their launch was one of the dumbest and childish launch. College function and presentations are presented with better confidence than these guys...
They were so nervous the entire time and were flumbling a lot...

Anyways the topic here is S3 and I just want that some how due to S3 being launched the rates of Note should fall down quickly so that I can grab one :victorious:
