Yes, Prime ABGB. From the shop, not online. Should be available with most dealers now ( at least in Mumbai ) - One dealer in Bandra quoted 7950 yest evening.

It's a 20" 1600x900 monitor, looks quite good but I'm no LCD expert. Seems to be a good deal at that price.

If you want exact ht & wd, you'll have to wait till I go there again.

^^ Do you mean PrimeABGB?
I can't find it there .

Another thing, how does the actual screen size compare to say .. a 15'' CRT?

Like it says here:

7950??????????????? are you sure about that??? who? where?

is 2233sw a better buy than a benq e2200 hd??

almost 2 k cheaper..

i wont be able to game on 1080p on my hd4850...

so gaming on a lower reso will work out fine right?? on this 16:9 22 inch lcd.

First impression

I am currently busy with my work -had little time to explore. Still my impression that this one is worth for my money.

No dead pixel

Excellant brighness - in fact i usually reduce brighness when i browse. The flash of my camera remains off when i took picture in auto mode.

Color representarion is good - my shots looks quite vibrant when i view in this monitor.

The best part is watching movies - 16:9 movies use 100% of screen and no blurring of image in most scenes.

Me not a gamer - though i tried some older games - NFS MW, Midtown madness, Prince of persia I, Sim city 4, Max payne II (as my graphic card is 2 year old inbuilt nvidia). They looks great.

Shall add images of the monitor later.

Does the text seem too small while browsing or doing office work? This seems to be a big issue here with members saying that text will appear too small on full reso. on a 21.5" screen. What is your experience? Do you find it comfortable to read text on the screen?

BTW, congrats on a nice buy!

yes - texts appear to be a bit smaller - but to me they are quite legible viewing from a distance of 3 ft (have measured with a scale). If one having problem reading the text - this can easily be overcome by increasing the font size in display property and increasing the magnification in browser without loosing any details.

Between the 2233sw and the Dell S2409W, which would u guys suggest?

As far as ability to play games, and watch movies, without having the resolution be a problem.

I know its really not an issue already, but which would be clearer, lower response time, etc...

Money is kind of an issue, but lets disregard that for the moment. I know that one is 22 inches and the other is 24...But which would be the best quality, as an allround computer monitor?

2233SW is a 22" screen and the S2409 is a 24" screen, so you can't really compare the two. If you like big monitors, the 24" Dell will give an overall better experience. Apart from the increased viewing area, the Dell monitor has got more features than the Samsung one, such as built-in speakers and HDMI. HDMI is important if you want to hook up a console to your display. Plus Dell gives 3 years of warranty and UNPARALLELED service, while Samsung is giving 1 year warranty on the monitor (dunno about service, having never owned a Samsung monitor in my life).

If money is no issue, the Dell monitor would be a better buy. 24", full HD and HDMI. I am myself on the hunt for a good 24" monitor and the Dell one seems to me to be the best buy. Personally, I don't really think I will enjoy a full HD 22" monitor. Such a high resolution at such less viewing area would not give me the best experience IMO. Also I play games a lot, and my graphics card will be working overtime to push so many pixels onto such a small display. So if you are gaming then a 22" full HD monitor doesn't really provide a very great experience for the amount of sheer horsepower it will demand from your GPU. A 22" standard 16:10 monitor would make more sense in this case, at least to me.

As far as response times and input lag are concerned, both monitors will be more or less same, as they are both TN panels, so that is not an issue.

Perfect comparison dude...

Concise and to the point...

Guess its the Dell for me, if I can't find it, I'll go for the Samsung...

I'm getting a GTX 260 core 216 SC edition...It shouldnt be a problem to play games on either monitor right, I mean the Samsung in particular. As far as a single gpu goes, its the 2nd or 3rd best at the moment so I would be surprised, if I noticed significant performance loss on the samsung.

Contact Rockfella over here for the Dell monitor, he is currently selling it.

A GTX 260 core-216 would be enough for most games, but not all (read: Crysis). If you want a little more future-proofing and tension-free performance, get a GTX 280. They are dirt cheap now on Newegg (I saw an eVGA GTX 280 for 310$ without rebate today).. Maybe cheaper on other sites.. Would be more than enough for 1080p resolution.. The point I was trying to make is going for Samsung/BenQ 22" 1080p displays is not very worthy, since you get less area to to work on, but your gfx card will be taxed to the limit with either display.. So with the Dell you get same performance in games as the Samsung/BenQ displays, but you also get a bigger screen. Also if I were to choose between the Samsung and BenQ 22" displays, I would choose the BenQ one, simply because it has got excellent reviews on all sites, has HDMI, in-built speakers (not a big deal, but an extra feature nonetheless), quite good non-native resolution support (I don't know how the Samsung scores in this area) and also a FULL 3-years warranty (Samsung gives only 1 year). The Samsung monitor is cheaper than the BenQ one, but not by much. It is your decision in the end, but these points are quite valid.

hi guys.. i brought 2233sw yesterday for 10.5k here at kerala. my first impression with it is not that good..

in comparison to the dell monitor i have, the color representation is very bad. the lighter shades of white ( like off white, light gray, light yellow etc) all look the same. also, darker shades of blue look different than other monitors.

i use this monitor for watching movies.. its really good for that. i have placed it next to my bed, and i can watch movies even from the bed. the viewing angle is excellent. the picture is good even if i place it high on my table and watch from my bed.

one thing i noticed was that, the setup manual on how to assemble the display was in the cd provided. so it wont be easy for u to go through the CD and assemble the monitor unless u have an extra display.

the power button and the menu buttons are on the side of the panel. so the menu will need some getting used to.

other than the native resolution of 1920x1080, the monitor can be used used with 1440x900 resolution also. all the other resolutions are crappy.

there is a blue led below the panel for power indication. it is very bright and can be annoying if u are watching movies in a dark room.

one more interesting thing i noticed was that in my Windows 7 installation, only resolutions upto 1680x1050 was available. but in Xp, it correctly detected upto 1920x1080. i guess it has something to do with my nvidia driver. not sure though.

as a conclusion, i wont recommend this monitor for anything other than watching movies. and for watching movies, this is really a great buy.

^^ one thing about these monitors is that they are 16:9 ratio instead of the usual 16:10. Actual size is 21.5" instead of 22". Due to their aspect ratio, the actual viewable area is quite less than a 22" 16:9.

Just go to TV Calculator and check out the difference in screen size. Especially noticeable when you play 4:3 content.

I was debating whether to buy E2200HD, but decided not to buy due to this reason. Ended by buying a Viewsonic VX2235wm-5 (2ms version)
yes 16:9 monitors are smaller than conventional 16:10 monitors but the main strength is video scaling.....videos look just awesome in 16:9 when compared to 16:10....its as clear as watching it on 17" screen....i bought benq t2200hd for 12k to connect xbox360 and pc and after watching vidoes i was like wow...awesome really worth buying
