Our partners at Darkforestgroup.com have been working on porting Android to the S8000. We have now teamed up with them in the battle to port Android to the Wave. They have many connections in the development field so I think we may have finally got the ball rolling on this. Time will tell guys so hang in there. just try installing Kies freshly on another pc & try again. probably this might help you.

i) I have already explained in another thread, that the plastic body of SGS is much better if you are going to drop your phone :p

I'd not mind broken body when the phone drops because it'll absorb some/all the shock and the screen may survive, but in case of desire definitely the body will not break but the screen might, as the body will nicely pass all the shock to the screen :p

ii) not a problem to you as you said.

iii) you are working on the solution.

iv) Legend's display is nowhere close to SGS.

size:

SGS - 122.4 x 64.2 x 9.9 mm

Desire - 119 x 60 x 11.9 mm

Legend - 112 x 56.3 x 11.5 mm

I don't think SGS is huge comparing the other two.

@arpan- After a lot fiddling with firmwares - some working , some broken I am finally on XXJH1 , the one with BADA ver 1.0.2 :clap: Everything is working fine till now. Will update you later on this. If your planning to do this then let me know , there are few things to follow to get it working properly :mad:
 
Proud new owner of my very own Samsung Wave :D

Got the The Black model for 18.2K from Suraj Mobiles in Palam Vihar, Gurgaon.

So what now? I'm on OS version 1.0. What are the things that i should be doing first?

Any and all tips/guide/suggestions appreciated :)
 
hey guyz...

first of all....HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY..(to all the indians):D

next...i've used the wave for around 2 weeks for now..
but still stuck up with the JE7 version..:(
kies refuses to update it...heck it doesnt even connect to the internet and i cannot access the store via kies..:S
i was wondering if there was a way i could update my phone to JF2 widout using kies..:hap2:

a link to a guide for the same would be much much appreciated.

Ok guys, I can help you all. But remember we dont have full Indian or Asian firmware till now so we cant revert back to Indian firmware to avail the warranty. Remember this and then proceed. If someone can locate a full Indian or Asian firmware with bootfiles, pls let me know :)
 
Another query....

The warranty card that came with the phone was not filled but i have the dealer invoice/bill.

Will this be enough to claim warranty on the phone?

I have planned to wait for full asian f/w to come out, then i'll experiment other F/Ws. Anyway, hows the memory mannagement with the XXJH1 F/W ? I mean do widgets auto close when you are running memory hungry applications?

Finally got my metallic black Wave for 16.6K at reliance digital independence day offer....I think today is the last date for the offer. First thing I charged it fully.. Now to play around. :)
