does flashing ur device will void it from any further warranty by samsung service center ?
 
@arpan - Went like this - XXJF7 full >> XXJG5 >> XXJG6 >> XXJH1 . But in XXJH1, twitter is broken. Hence again went back to XXJF7 full and phone keep rebooting. Then flashed to XXJg5 > XXJG6 . Now on XXXJG6 ..But twitter still is not working, still crashing. Now wondering whether should I again flash it to XXJH1 , bada 1.0.2 version ?

Ok looks like twitter and facebook is broken from XXJG5 , hence again updated to XXJH1 :)

@gaidu- Ofcourse it voids your warranty. Dont do it. As still we dont have full indian firmware available. Once we have that we can always flash back to that one and claim the warranty :) Hopefully it will be available soon ..

So any improvenenets in the BADA 1.0.2..hope they added some new themes and smileys in the messagin...Is the memory issue still creeping up in the JH1 version,,,,

I read somewhere on the net that Swype is been developed in the BADA 1.02...not sure though

anyone tried the tv out function?

i badly want to edit my office files on wave.
also wonder why large pdf (53 MB) cannot be opened.
also there is no scrolling of the filenames if they go out of the screen (it should be smooth pixel scroll & not letter scroll)
these small issues needs to be ironed out. then only little by little the os will get refined & polished.
hope it is done in the next release.
 
@arpan - Ok settled on XXJG5. Twitter, facebook etc is working fine in this version. There is also some camera related improvement in this version. XXJG6 & XXJH1 has twitter and facebook app broken...

Voice calling , mtnl 3g data etc is working fine. Will report back if I find any issues. Phone feels a bit snappy now.

univercell is very costly.You can generally find -500 to 1000 difference.

BTW - is the color of the handset mentioned on the box ???????/

Incase the dealer has no opened box.. all are sealed pack.. so i should come to know somehow..

i just wanted to know which cable you used for the same & how it works. also the resolution is hd or sd i.e. can we see hd videos in hd or hd cannot be transmitted?

@arpan - Ok the thing is that bootloader is different for asia and europe version. Hence first you have to flash to XXJF7 full which has boot files etc. Then you can flash to XXJG5 , which I have found to work flawlessly. But if you want to come back to Indian, DDxxx version you will need full indian firmware with bootloader etc which unfortunately is not available. But samsung-firmwares is working hard on it and surely get a full indian or for that matter asian firmware with bootfiles etc.

Also since I own N86 , Galaxy S and N79 , I easily tinkered with my Wave wihtout any worries. Do it only if you have a super duper backup phone if by chance, something goes wrong. Need any help, let me know :)

I will try to report issues but it may take few days as its hard to use Wave day in day out when you have Galaxy S and N86 to use as well. But will try to report back in quick time :)

And also one good thing is that Samsung is keeping the compression to very low level in 720p video recording across all the firmwares I have tried. In fact its the same with 1 minute of 720p video consuming around 88mb in all the firmwares. One area where samsung scores over nokia is jpeg compression / noise reduction. It will be interesting to see how much compression / noise reduction N8 will use in 720p video recording. These two along with Iphone 4 are front runners for the best 720p video recording champion phone.

Since you have both Galaxy S and Wave can you tell me how they compare against each other. Especially, whether Wave screen size good enough for browsing, games and e-book reading? Also I heard Wave is faster than Galaxy in some cases.

And what about cam quality and HD recording for both? Are they same or different cams have been put in them.

In short tell me if Wave is good enough or one HAS to go for Galaxy.
 
@Dhanan- Galaxy S anyday over Wave. No comparison at all :)

Ok now for a lengthy explanation--

BADA os does not stand before Android. Infact no os is comparable to Android , maybe symbian^3, but I will let you know about that in a months time when I get my N8. So quality of applications available for GS is much much better than Wave.

Both have exactly the same hardware inside, hummingbird chip with cortex A8 1 ghz 45nm cpu , 512 mb ram, 2gb rom , powervr sgx 540 gpu etc. No idea about the camera modules as nothing is written besides the camera part on both handsets like focal length, aperature etc. Need to do some searching on google regarding this part. Wave ofcourse have single power led flash which btw is the strongest single led setup I have experienced on a phone. GS does not have any. Both the cameras have been tuned differently in terms of image processing algorithms. 720P video recording is better on Wave as it records in MP4 container whereas GS does in 3GP container. Inshort, Camera-wise Wave is better as it has physical camera shutter key.

It all depends on you. Which OS you want to experience. If your a everyday user then save 10k and get Wave. OR GS then :)
