Most people don't understand how to pack stuff well. Forget this forum, I routinely receive horribly packed products from independent sellers on Amazon as well. The only possible explanation is sellers here are not good at packaging stuff

For used items too?Delhivery has the option to secure shipment till a certain amount less than 100% of the quoted value.
I have sold custom printed phone cases on Amazon when I had the setup. The 'Fulfilled by Amazon' items are shipped by the seller in a crate or a box, and upon each order, Amazon picks and packs and dispatches. The pick and pack fee is charged by Amazon to the seller for it. So it is likely your horrible experience was because of the incompetence and cost-cutting measures of packing staff at Amazon warehouses. They DO NOT KNOW (or have the resources - both packing material and time) how to pack some sensitive items (Especially hard drives). This can be avoided by sellers packing each item individually with enough protection before packing it in the big box before shipping to Amazon Warehouse (I used to do that).I routinely receive horribly packed products from independent sellers on Amazon as well.
This.As a seller, if you want to sell on this platform by shipping, you are doing so because you are not able to find local buyers for the price you are expecting. So you must understand the risks involved with shipping used items via the courier you are shipping with
It goes both ways. You can always ask for better packing / ask for packing pictures / ask for to be shipped by specific courier. I have come across such requests (they were more of a concern because of lack of trust - I always pack generously which you can conclude from my feedback) and have honored them. If a seller states they will only ship via certain courier for some reason (reason might be valid - for example I never ship via Xpressbees because of their horrible service in my area) then you have the option to not make the purchase.Only a fool would buy from sellers like these. These sellers (some of whom are defending their policy in this thread) are so rude in their listings and usually their pricing is horrible. The seller chose the courier and he chose the packaging and the foolish buyer has to take all the risk because the mighty lord said so. He is doing such a favor to the buyer by selling the item which is not available anywhere else.
Then don't buy or just ignore. No one is forcing you my dear. Is it so difficult to understand ?Come on buyers, stop being fools and buying from such people. This deal is so lopsided, it is not even funny. This is no deal.
@solo_wing was the first that I remember and now @ibose has become a master of such listings. I don't know why people keep buying from them.

want others to not buy. Is it so difficult to understand? Jaago grahak jaago.
You have seen the success of the business model of @solo_wing and found out how to take advantage of gullible people. I can’t see why anyone would buy from you under your terms.
If i may advice Stop trying to even discuss it with them.. ....Then don't buy or just ignore. No one is forcing you my dear. Is it so difficult to understand ?
What ? And take a 1 crore hit on our "fancy business model" ?If i may advice Stop trying to even discuss it with them.
Why are you so sure when he explicitly says that h is responsibility ends once it leaves his home?I am sure if the product had issues, @ibose would have look into it and would have helped me find a solution.
Then, why are you so scared of taking responsibility for your choices of courier and packaging? Why are you defending your choices in this thread? Let the mods ban this and you can take your fancy business model elsewhere. What ? And take a 1 crore hit on our "fancy business model" ?
Why don't you buy something from me and find out ?Even if that were true, would he extend the same courtesy to people who are newer or doesn’t have such a feedback as you?
Courier, because unlike you I don't have the time and patience to find your choice of courier. You see, unlike you, I have a day job. I don't run this business model on a full time basis even though it makes crores for me.why are you so scared of taking responsibility for your choices of courier and packaging?
Of course. Please feel free to speak with them.Let the mods ban this and you can take your fancy business model elsewhere.
That is what exactly most of their listings sound like. And, if they are doing a favour to the buyer they should be happy that their practice is no longer allowed and they are no longer obligated to provide this wonderful favour to the buyersThis.
But by the comments of some people here, it seems they are only selling here as a charity to buyers or some sort of social service and they are not desperate to sell!!! Or because their spouses said so.
Why can't people understand that it's a mutual transaction? So risk should be mutual.
I like to think that I am not a moron. You said you won’t take responsibility and I believe you. Why would I buy from you? I cannot think of any reason why anyone would buy from you under your conditions. Why don't you buy something from me and find out.

Packing, well I would let genuine buyers speak for themselves rather than coming from a frosted newbie.
Of course. Please feel free to speak with them.
Stop with the personal attacks. If you don’t like something, don’t buy. Please go to Reddit and rant all you want there.I want others to not buy. Is it so difficult to understand? Jaago grahak jaago.

I was surprised at this too but then i saw them being the norm in FB groups and literally everywhere. Transit damage is not under both party's control
But here the main question arises as to who keeps that items custody? The most acceptable solution is sharing 50-50 in case of losses. It will be fair for both the parties.
This is hard for most of us to follow as this is a full-time seller. Most of us on TE only sell personally used items. One genuine person I deal with has this policy have a look at it:

Here, the seller is taking full damage responsibility and prompt refunds without dramas.
Now, how many of us can follow any of these rules ?
Looks like a post from a hot wheels/scale model group. What year models are he selling and what's his pricing like? If i'm selling 100Rs MRP Mainlines at 150-200 + shipping, then i can offer DIT/LIT Coverage too.One genuine person I deal with has this policy have a look at it:

I was offered the service once, but they needed original invoice etc which I didnt have so didnt follow through with it. So not 100% SureAre you sure about bluedart?
Im yet to find any one providing transit insurance for used items mostly because its risky for them to do so.
