None of the H61 motherboards can over-clock the CPU, as from the time of the LGA 1155 socket, over-clocking was restricted first by dependency on the motherboard, only P55 chipsets could over-clock CPU's.

On the release of Intel Sandy Bridge family this feature was further exacerbated by the introduction of locked an unlocked processors, the latter defined by a -k affix to the name. The chipset was also important to this process as only the P67 / Z68 chipsets can over-clock the CPU, whilst the cheaper H67 and H61 cannot.

For more on the topic read these articles #1, #2 and #3.

Hope this helps, Cheers!!

The Gigabyte motherboard will be a better option due to its better after-sales service arm.

The Turbo Boost feature is independent of the motherboard chipset, it is a processor-bound feature, I think only the lower end Intel Pentium G's and Celeron's lack this feature.

Here is the Intel H61 product page. It explicitly mentions support for the Turbo Boost feature.

[font=intel-neo-sans, tahoma, helvetica, sans-serif]Designed for scalability and cost optimization platforms, the Intel H61 Express Chipset enables 1 DIMM per channel of DDR3 1333 MHz. With Intel® Turbo Boost Technology 2.0[/font][sup]1[/sup][font=intel-neo-sans, tahoma, helvetica, sans-serif], 2nd generation Intel Core processor family increase speed automatically for whatever you’re doing on your PC. Hope this clears any doubts. Cheers!!

What load have they put the SMPS under?

Why are they selling the SMPS so soon, so abruptly?

Is there something wrong with the SMPS, as they are selling it at such a reduced rate?

Find out all this mate, atleast.

Honestly go for the decent cabinet on the lines of the Cooler Master eLite 311 ~2000/- OR Cooler Master eLite 430 ~2700/-, it is the cheapest that will fit your requirement and allow proper functionality.

The issue with old cabinets and local maal is that they have a higher affinity to corrosion, may / may not have shoddy build, might have been damages in use by the previous user. Also a good cabinet will see you through multiple builds.

Hope this helps, Cheers!!

ok bro.so which one should i buy?mini tower or mid tower??i liked coolermaster elite 343 very much.but it is mini tower;good in looks, design and less space occupying plus priced for 1.8k.but i wanted to ask will the mini tower hamper with ventilation etc?especially after putting heavy graphic card like 7850 or is it ok to go with it??

and on side note what about cheap iball cabinets for around 1k???

You answered your own question Sire, first of in mini-towers there is already lack of space add in a a graphics card the calibre of the HD 7850 and I don't need to spell it out, do I.

Please do not even think about those please.

ok then between 310;311;330;334 which one???

Go for the Cooler Master eLite 311 minimum because --
  • removable hard drive caddy, to accommodate longer cards.
  • supports SMPs' equipped with a ~135mm fan.

If your budget allows you the luxury, try to get the following models --

Cooler Master eLite 430 ~2700/- OR Cooler Master Gladiator 600 ~3000/-
  • fully tool-less design, so easier to change components.
  • full-black interiors, so less chance of corrosion internally [please note the G600 lacks this].
  • full-support for long cards, in the league of the HD 5970 and.
  • better airflow design and fan set-up. Most important have a front intake fan provision.

and also what about cheap iball or odyssey ones??

Don't even think about these cabinets, Sire. Out of consideration of your brand new PC and other sundry topics like --
  • airflow, most of these cabinets support 80mm fans, which require to spin faster to pump the same volume of air out as a standard 120mm fan.
  • nothing called an airflow principle. More often than not, no front intake with dust-filter.
  • No painted interior so higher chances of rust and corrosion.
  • Will be quite complicated to do any sort of cable routing / airflow.

Hope this helps, Cheers!!

ok sire!!got the message.thanks once again.

do you know of any particular shop in nehru place which sells good cabinets at good prices??

Honestly speaking no yaar!! I am a new guy here [Dilli mein] and have not been able to do a thorough reconnaissance of Nehru Place.

But shops that piqued my interest were --
  • SMC International [Drool shop. They had R.A.T. 5 / 7 / 9 on display the day I entered, have been to their corporate office to get review samples from the Cooler Master Rep here]
  • Computer Empire [pretty reasonable rates OR he was taking me for a ride - taxes]
  • Cost-to-Cost [heard they are not very reliable though]

Hope this helps, Sire. Cheers!!
