Sify reduces rates

Hahaha, had to come at some point of time. I live in kolkata and sify was charging ppl here 1045 for a months connection of 256 kbps. While in bombay it was arnd 300 bucks less. I guess that was bcoz of so many decent isps there. Now a month back airtel makes it's entry into the sphere here and voila guess whos got new rates, 895 for 256k. Hehe competition is good, now how about airtel showing it's might and the isps bringing charges down even further.
 
Yeah unlimited, but all the sify connections have a catch, u cant download more than 150 mb from 8 am to 10 pm, otherwise 1 day is deducted from the total validity. Although 10pm to 8am u can download as much as you want. I know this sux but otherwise dont have much of an option anyway, since Ive already subscribed to sify and am not getting my 2 grand back if i give it up and go for airtel

If they have capped it for nearly 12 hrs a day and how is this unlimited, this should come under Daylight Robbery ;)
 
Yeah well what can you do. Stupid buggers have a sort of a monopoly. I wonder whether its the same in bombay n stuff.

And anyway better than having bsnl where ur capped for the whole month
 
I've already lost over 30 days (over the last 3 months) to those buggers at sify :bleh:.. anyways, i heard my cable wallah saying sify might introduce 512Kbps plans soon.. not sure of ETA though.. hope its available for something like 1000 bucks.. tht wud be gr8!! :D
 
You said it bro.... and their stupid download tracking system is also flawed so you really cant keep track. Really 512 when, where u at?
 
Yup. Its the same scheme in Mumbai.

Thats why hardly any1 buys sify. :bleh:

We have Exatt / Hathway / TATA and nor even Airtel here. So Sify can :bleh:

am from Mysore.. either a 256 true unltd or a 512 10pm-8am unltd for around 1000~1100 wud be gr8.. am not sure when (if at all) sify's gonna come out with such a plan..
 
I don't think so any connection with caps is shitty. When you're using bittorrent and all and say have a slow torrent or something the download dosen't finish in that 10 hr bracket u either end up loosing a bunch of days or u wait again for one whole day to resume it. So 256 k unlimited would be the way to go.
 
Why the would anybody wanna buy sify ?? I Think Airtel is doing an awesome job ! Iam Living in Bangalore and airtel is charging rs 900 for 256k unlimited connection !! And by unlimited I mean Unlimited ! I have already downloaded more than 30 gbs in less then 2 months !

These are a bit old rates subtract 100Rs from it.

I am still on a shitty 48Kbps Unlimited connection and am paying Rs600 for it

We have a 300Kbps Night Unlimited Plan here for Rs650
But thats restricted from 9 to 9 cant use during day :(

And after pacenet we have sify and i hate sify a lot for all there
limits during the day.

Hey Goldie what are hathways rates for 256Kbps unlimited.
 
Sucks for you guys :( Pity the state of Broadband in our technological India. how can they limit the prime hours to 150mb?? That just sucks.

Thank-God for Airtel, it saved me with its pure unlimited plans in budget.

Though i'm waiting for 512-1mb unlm connections from them soon.
 
Me too.... Airtel rocks!!! they saved me!!! But I dont think I will be upgrading anytime soon... And 512kbps unltd will not come soon enough. This is just my opinion though

Y would any1 want to buy sify? Mayb coz thats the only thing close to bb available in some parts of the country that has even some semblence of national standards. The other thing we have is alliance bb which is absolute bull shit rather use dial up. And airtel made an entry so late that ppl who were dying to get a bb connection had already taken up sify. And now those idiots wont give the money back. The took around 2 grand for the wiring claiming that piece of wiring belongs to you completely. Now even if we shift to airtel and say take away that wire what are we supposed to do with it? Hang our clothes?
So we're stuck baby, stuck on a you.
 
I still feel its better than bsnl dataone with 1 gb cap which roughly translates to 33mb per day. They have unlimited downloads only from 2-8. Compared to Dataone Sify looks better IMHO.
 
Nobody can beat the rate I have got from Hathway for my unlimited 256kbps conx for the last 5 months..... its free... yes ..... EFFE-ARE-EEE-EEE ..... FREE !!! ....for the last 5 months Hathway have not sent me a bill - I have asked them repeatedly for a bill and after 3 months of begging for them to bill me they finally replied ....

There is no outstanding in our records for yuour account in fact its showing
a credit balcne with us which wouldbe adjusted in your next bill, thats the
reason you have not received the bill
