Sify reduces rates

er.. i wasnt exactly comparing 256kbps to 256kbps... sify has the cheapest rates for 'broadband'.. 220 bucks for 64kbps 'braodband' for 15 hrs valid over 1 month..bluffmaster said:

Its really a matter of shame that people in India have no choice but to surf on pathetic capped plans at this age in technology.

thats the sad part. Tata refused to give connection to my area when i called. Spending 1.6K is not a problem for me on tata if i get 24x7 256K unlimited connection. I will gladly pay premium for uncapped connection. but there is simply no ISP to provide that in the part of Mumbai. The biggest metro of india and this is the situation here in some parts.
And its not like demand is not there. My cable operator had more than 300 internet users under his network. And he operates very small area. Thats more than 50% of his cable TV customers. So demand is there. And i am sure many will choose alternate ISP is there is uncapped connections available. Still companies ignore many suberban areas of city like mumbai.
I thankfully have no problems with sify so far. Not too many downtimes and good speeds and all that for Rs.795. But as always i want more

Guys,I'm thinking of going for Airtel..Had enough of Hathway(crapway),getting pings in the range of 95-150 and if I'm lucky I get a ping of 400:S ,Hell! even my local cable walla 256 kbps got me 30-40 in sg servers and 60-70 in australian servers.
Or is there any other ISP which is better than airtel?

here hathway offers a plan 512kbps.......for 550 bucks night plan..........but they dont offer this plan to ppl lik me..who knows how to juice out frm them.........they offer this scheme who had 128kbps.......3gb download...i m on 440 buks 256kbps night plan and whole sunday............but again ill go to 1100 whole day unlimited plan....and this guys do charge 551 buks...for plan shift....
Hahaha ping of 400? Thats like the ping I get on my cs servers.... HAHAHA. And mask, it's 795 in delhi also thts only coz sify is getting a major hammering from the likes of tata and airtel there. Airtel from the price performance ratio point of view is definitely the best.

Hehe, mayb airtel's customer service goes through broadband b******g boards and calls up ppl they find are in need. Are you excited youre going to get an adidas bag worth Rs.1000 absolutely free like bluffmaster? Let me know what it's like. Maybe you can make it a coffin for your old hathaway cables. A tribute to an era gone by.
ever since ppl started shooting at me..as for hathway cables.well..I can go to the customer care center and whip the hathway employees with it.:rofl:

Anyone here uses net4india, living with my uncle in pune these days, had 2 options for bb net, net4india or bsnl, went for net4india.
my plan is 128-512k unlimited for 700/pm, get download speeds of 25k/ day n 35k/ night.
Only one major problem the neighbour kids who keep pulling my lan cable out of the switch when they go to play cricket on the terrace. ^%$^#%^#%

Whats a 128-512 connection? If you have a 128 k connection you should be getting a download of 16 kbps and if you have 512 it should be 64 kbps. I think a better thing would be 128 kbps during the day and 512 at night, that'll be quite a nice system. But anyway youre getting a brilliant deal for 700 bucks.Hacker said:
I was referring to what hathway said about the ping of the hathaway servers. If you get pings of 400 then it's going to take a much longer time to download something of the same size on exactly the same speed connection with a ping of 1. Btw Sify gives me a ping of 1 ms. And I think your wire should be coiled around a pipe or something or ultimately the bronze clips are going to break off from your lan port.
