Singapore airlines has tampered with my checkin luggage and have flicked the brand new Nokia 5230 phone in it.I just opened my luggage and to my shock the contents of the bag were not in the same place .I had clothes, cigarettes and this phone.Cigarettes were kept on the top then clothes then the phone and again clothes.

When i opened it had clothes on top ( totally messed) then the cigarettes pack was under the clothes.I just called then and lodged a complaint and awaiting for a reply from them.

This is disgusting and unethical on SQ part:@:@.If any one has any email address of top people at SQ please pass it

Damn this's sad! Good that you have lodged a complaint - I'm sure SQ will get back to you with a positive response.

This happened to me way back in May 1999 - we were on transit from Malaysia to Singapore and on arrival at the Changi ariport through a SQ flight, one of our luggages were found missing from the lot. After waiting at the baggage arrival counter for almost 2 hours, we were unable to find it. lodged a complaint at the customer support there and they took an inquiry with the relevant details and luckily before we left for India after about a week, they delivered the bag to us at our relative's place. The contents were intact. It appears that the bag went to HK on another flight. :P

So have some faith Kranthi. :)

If the baggage is missing then its a clear case that they have misplaced it and we would get back at least some compensation but in my case ,they have opened my baggage and flicked the phone :(

Yeah man i did a big mistake by not applying lock.

I was under the impression that you don't lock your checkin baggage since they have to check it for security reasons & they break the lock if its there.

Or am I mistaken...

^Where are you located now btw? Reached NZ or still at SIN? Those baggage handlers are to be blamed for sure. In any case, do not leave them like that. Have it escalated to the senior personnel in the company.

I think the baggage check which they do at check in front of you is about it.
Me thinks its definitely an inside job, preying on international travelers in the hopes that they would give up easily since their now in a different country.Feel sorry for you mate :-(

Can some one here help me with email address of SQ headquarters. All i got was an email address of an 3rd party baggage handlers for SQ in Auckland

Its the baggage handlers and not the company, still you should get compensation under the principle of vicarious liability. Please pursue the matter with due diligence. They surely will compensate you.

PS: DO NOT even mention that you bag wasnt locked, you will not get a single paise.
