I was planning to pick up this game as I love survival horror titles. Checked a couple of gameplay videos and found the graphics to be very low and the atmosphere was way too dark. Has anyone tried this game?

Andy, I'm sure you have played this already. Is it worth getting this game? What's the difference between Siren: Blood Curse and Siren: New Translation? From what I understand, the latter is the Japanese title. Any other add-ons or omissions?

I had an opportunity to try Forbidden Siren back when I had my PS2, but it got buried under a bigger 'AAA' title stock. So never got my head around playing it.
 
Freaking Horror Title...DO NOT PLAY ALONE !

I have till date not completed the game :P

There is no difference between the 2 titles except for language.

The Graphics are of 2007/08 period and are basically like that because its a Video Recording of group of TV journalist who went to that island. The game is played thru that perspective & is in different episodes if u DL via PSN :P

I have the Disc with me :)
 
I saw the video review over YouTube and dam me for not noticing this earlier. I'm getting the European copy as it has the making of the game and some additional content. It looks and plays so much like Silent Hill. Can't wait to try this. How much have you played? If you're willing to start the game, then even I'll start this. That way, we can at least discuss on it. I don't this anyone other than we two are even interested or might have even heard of this title on this forum. What's say?

Yes it plays like Silent Hill 2, where you are not a HERO here, but u surely are underpowered in front of the shibito (zombie-like).
 
Okie Doke! I'll probably complete Tomb Raider: Anniversary today, so was thinking of picking this up straight away or if Bond shows up, then I'm sandwiched between the 2. I'll PM you once I start off with it. :)
 
Andy, let the good times roll man. Yes, that's a cue for starting the game. I just played the first 2 chapters last night and I'm am overwhelmed with the presentation of this game. This is what true survival horror is. I'll raise the stakes and say that if 360 has Alan Wake, then PS3 has Siren: Blood Curse. That is how freakin' awesome I thought it was. I played it with light out and volume cranked up to it's mid. The sound effects just send a chill down your spine and those creepy-ass shibito are even worse. The episodic way in which it is narrated is brilliant. Only thing I hate for now is the control scheme, the directional camera movement, to be more specific. It's restricted to 180 degree movement, instead of a full 360 movement. Also the grain filter, but I think I'll get past those issues because the game is so engaging. I'll be playing this only at night. I think Gannu might drop in later on too. So let's get on with it. :D

for the control scheme, wait until u get sight jacking ability :bleh: and the hospital level, u will b scared to shit :P

Been loving freaky horror titles anyway. Dead space was good, Amnesia was awesome. Have Condemned: Criminal origins left. Looking forward for this one. :)
 
I really miss PS2 fav...Horror title... Fatal Frame :(

I already learned the jacking ability from Amana. Now I'm just following her path. Checking Enslaved thread now. Let me know when you start this game and report your progress.
 
OMG! The Saiga Hospital episode with Bella was so creepy.
And Sol just turned into a Shibito, GREAT!

I finished till Chapter 3 yday night ;) will finish more tonight.

Guess what? Today evening, I'll continue with the game. Weekend leave FTW!

Did you find Amana after she got abducted in the 2nd Episode? How long were each episodes after that? Any tough bits?
