hi folks do u think the move made by Union Health Ministry to ban smoking in public places,pubs,hotels,restaurant's,even in International airport's,private offices etc. is a good move ...:huh:

So where should people smoke guess its gonna be only in loo's :@ ,i guess banning even in Pubs and office spaces is a bad move ,coz we smoke at times for fun at least in Pubs and in office coz of pressure,though i have controlled smoking a lot ,still feel the pain of banning smoking everywhere ,i guess they are trying to implement no smoking country and succeed what :@

^ So you think that the whole world smokes just because you do. Smoking in public places affects non smokers also and you think it should not be banned. A non smoker visits all the places you mentioned above. If you have a death wish its fine by me but dont take me down with you.

I think its an excellent decision.
 
right move....just like rash driving u r not just putting your own life at risk....but also of others nearby...

smoke in living rooms with family sitting around...lol..

If it is indeed a death wish, why doesn't the government just stop selling cigarettes?

This is bloody bullshit. Hypocrisy as its best.
 
personally, doesnt matter as I dont smoke.

But I think it would have been lot better if they concentrated on implementing the present regulations. The present ones like ban on smoking in most transport systems and offices were good enough with designated smoking areas.
 
this is a good decision.

imho this wouldn't affect the smokers at all, they smoke, they will still smoke, its good u cant smoke in public places, that harasses me.

this would never affect me, I'm a Sikh, Sikhs do NOT smoke (if they believe in their religion).

Dont u think banning it in Pubs is sad and work place where smokers have a smoking zone ,hammerhead do u meant to say if whole world doesnt smoke i shouldn lol ,its personal man ,when things were goin on fine from past many years y this move now ,and more over companies likes ITC are gonna have a big loss :P

I do agree with the move ,so let them inform us where do we smoke btb i have reduced smoking by 70% now i smoke about 3 cigs in a day max ,thanks to PiXeLPuSheR ,his words have helped me a lot :hap2:
 
i dont care about ciggies....when will the government ban spitting/chewing tobacco! (especially spitting red)

Somking affects the health of people around smokers. If you want to smoke, do it in your home not around people who do not wish to be affected by effects smoking.

+1 for the above, shut down all companies who manufacture smokes , govt cant do that coz its gonna loose the tax :@ this is move is utter bullshit ,where do i smoke now in ma loo ,or i guess govt is gonna send cops to each and every house and when i am in loo smoking cop knocks and say's u are not supposed to smoke here coz its a public space and i am a public :crazy:

Wise decision, been long overdue actually. Issue is going to be implementation, that'll be pretty tough!

Smokers will always find that dark nook or corner for their fix, and you'll see a zillion of them popping around, heck I wouldn't be surprised seeing a cop directing a smoker to the dark alley down the road!

Dude, don't act retarded. The law says public places, your home is NOT a public place.

I am not asking anyone to quit smoking because I dont. Smoking zones are fine as long as people do not smoke outside it. I may not feel much about the law since it hardly affects me and I may never understand the addiction people have towards smoking. But I do not see banning smoking in any public place as sad (as long as its not home). Even I visit pubs with my friends and it would be good to have a little less smoke on my face. Either way smokers have a way of finding 'smoking zones' wherever there are rules against it :bleh:
