SONY Xperia NXT Series

in the RAY.the metal rails on the side give it a solid feel...where as the U will feel very plasticy everywhere

Can Somebody answer my Question... Would the U's dual-core processor be an advantage over the single core Ray in long term, say 2 years from now.??

In my opinion if u r thinking of keeping ur fone for 2 yrs then u should go for dual core to be on safer side because soon devs will release/work on apps which will require tht extra core for intensive processing.

So if u are apps hungry ( which u must be as u r vouching fr android

) go for dual core and if ur basic need is telephony and some mails + social networking single cores would easily sail u through

but wats the use of having dual core proc + dual core apps if you dont have space to install the apps? :p

Deleting old apps..

I'm not much into videos.. I have WiFi at home so would direclty stream it off the internet and watch.

So now left are Apps and Music.

My music collection is divided into two parts. The "Currently listening" part is about 1.5 GB in size and would be stored on the phone. The "Entire Library" is about 20 GB and only very rarely listen tat so it would be stored on a USB device (HD or Pen Drive) and would use USB-on-the-Go for that...

So that leaves me with 2.5 GB of Memory.

There's another point to remenber that U has 8 GB of capacity, out of which 4Gb is user accesible. The rest 4 GB is also available to the phone.. (i believe the phone itself will use that part to instal Apps ( correct me if I'm wrong, but if not for installing apps, whats the point in reserving 4GBS ...!!!! ?)

So 2.5 Gb here and 2~4 GB there( whatever Sony allows) would be enough for Apps and ocassional photoshoots or Recordings...(also thinking of buying a 32 GB Pendrive dedicated to work as a Wing-man to the phone

If still my calculation goes wrong, I'm still not Scared as I have already been using Nokia N73 for Almost 5 Years.. ( Resilience!

For a phone to be used over 2 years, your MEMORY will count more

Collecting images, videos, songs, heck all this takes a lot of space. And you can't just keep transferring them daily for 2 years!

think about it

^ at 20k it will sell like hot cakes. I'm also inclined to get Sola or P which would be my first massive upgrade from aged W200i.

I'm still skeptical. Sony always leaves out something critical.

In Sola's case, it's the FRONT CAMERA missing.

The only phone to have it all and launch would be Ace 2. But that would be priced ridiculously at 23k or something

Because it's a great way to access important stuff on a pen drive when out or even to use maybe a kb/mouse at home, but a terrible idea for playing music etc.

trust me, it's not a convenient way to get more storage...

Just fyi, sony's androids don't have native 3g video calling. you can only use the front cam via skype or gtalk kinda web based apps, not 3g video calls.

so skype and gtalk web based apps will allow me to do video calling over WiFi?

Oh... Thanks..

BTW, my music will rest in the phone.. Its photo and video back-ups I was talking about. That too in a case where phone memory runs out with lot of clicks and don't have access to my lappy.. Say on a vacation...

These are all very remote possibilities...

Anyways, Hell, I'm going to buy it..

Even if it turns out to be a stupid decision, Ya'll can brag " I told you before."
