SONY Xperia NXT Series

I am new to Android and HTC one as far as i used it stayed for a day. I got this yesterday around 3 pm..charged it until 10(2 hours power cut)..5 hours charging..wifi was On the whole time after charging for testing features.. streamed online videos for a hour..browsed a lot(may be 2 hours).. downloaded games for an hour(EA games are like 800 mb) listened to music for 2 hours.. 20 minutes of phone call...played games for an hour..battery lasted till 12 pm..totally it would be 6-7 hours of power usage..It is really bad compared to my Samsung Hero series mobile(solid 2 days charge) and again with the android we can't expect more than a day's charge.. it has a power saver app in which it will turn off certain battery draining apps if the charge gets less than 25%..If i use it for 2-3 days..i wouldn't say top of the class..it's seems moderate..certainly not low..atleast as of now.. after 12..i charged it for like an hour and it lasted until now..with some 2-3 hours of heavy usage(tested camera).

Great, so you can now provide a more clear perspective. Please provide us feedback on -

1. Performance
2. Battery life on following factors.
a) Light usage - Light browsing , music and few apps. (On full charge)
b) Modearte use - Med browsing, music, video and apps + games.
c) Heavy usage - How much backup did you get after full charge on heavy usage ?

Also do you have gripe from the set ?
super specs in XPeria P. Li-Ion 1305 mAh will be a big deciding factor..

U , P and Sola has same hardware except the screen and looks.

Just got xperia u for a friend. The screen is as good as super amoled on omnia w. The interface is very fluid, and it was faster than my previous optimus 2x. Over all a very good phone for the price. The 4 gb limit is a big -ve though.

4GB for apps, 4GB for user-data(music, photos, files). Can you confirm that #Faraz ?

I hope some dev over at xda manages to free all 8GB for us to use as we please, the phone will actually be something I could live with (my music collection on the phone itself is 4.5GB, hence I'm complaining)

It's 2GB+2GB+4GB (ROM+Apps+Storage Media)

Even if devs do work on it somehow, you'll still end up with 6-7GB of data out of which some will be used for app data.

I asked my friend. He said the usable space is around 4gb. He is newbie though. I will personally check when i meet him next time.

I think xperia sola is worth the price difference over u.

Can't any sola or u user give a comprehensive view on the battery life ?

i wish i could really spend some time with the mobile on heavy /moderate usage

I got the charge for 17 hours 50 minutes with 6 percent; remaining charge yesterday. I listened to music for like 2 hours, browsed a little..downloaded few apps..again downloaded few games like 500 mb..played few games..with 30 minutes calls..

and the 3d photo is awesome

Advance has a 26.5k stupid price tag.
If Ace 2 hits the 18k range, it will be a best seller(here's hoping it gets ICS instead of a Value Pack
<
)

That's awesome, cuz I would be using both!

Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 now on sale in the UK and Germany - GSMArena.com news

Ace 2 listed for €264 which is right in between the pricing of Xperia U €250 and Sola €290
So its most likely that its listed in India for 18kish :) If that happens that tough competition for the Xperias.
Though Sammy hasn't confirmed an ICS update and the processor is clocked @ 800MHz which is about 200MHz less than the Xperia ones.

Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 I8160 vs. Sony Xperia sola - GSMArena.com

Ok guys its final now, will pick phone on either 30th or 1st.

I have sorted this - Xperia Neo V and Xperia Sola

Here are some key factors-

1. If I can get any good deal (point me please if any) for Xperia Neo V for 15k then I'll happily settle for it.
2. I require the phone for kind of rough use with heavy modding support.
3. is it really worth spending money on dual core with measly battery life ?
4. neo plus points - > looks, front cam, expandable storage, ICS available, modding and cheaper price.
5. Sola plus points, uber looks, dual core so, floating touch , expandable storage.

So which one should I go for ? please do help I am really stuck in making a decision.

oops sorry confused that with the U8540

also U Vs. Sola is it worth the extra money just for the microSD slot? also u loose the front camera and lesser screen density

all these days i was in favor of the ray, thinking that a single core will be enough, but what if the next version of android (5.0?) requires a dual core? hence looking at the sola and U now
