having the same problems as you, Upgraded to 2.3.4 and cannot root no matter what I try.

Quick question, if I have to go back to stock firmware(to try everything from scratch again) what do I have to do?

if you want to re-start everything from scratch then just wipe the user data and cache from boot-mode (or whatever it is called, by holding vol up down and power key) and you are on stock again because this is a stock ROM and not a custom ROM ALL YOUR DATA WILL BE LOST SO PLEASE TAKE A BACKUP"

Tried again with Cherry Mobile Firmware 2.3.4 but no Root, I think I need to try with other su file, please post it if you have

things which i encountered with this phone is

1.it doesnt show whether it is running on 3g network or normal!!!!

2.wifi icon is not present here even you turn it on

3. does this phone support video calling ???? it has video calling through 3g feature right????

4.how to setup net connection for this (apn)???

pls help guys new to android phone!!!!!!

Congrats :D

Well the things you mentioned are Android specific.

1 - Android shows 3g,h, or E for 3g, HSDPA or EDGE only when connected to the internet.
2 - Wifi icon only comes on if it is connected to a wifi network.

1.You can see on the top notification whether it is running 3G (H for HSDPA) or Edge (E). (but I assume you have not entered the gprs setting so it doesn't show)

To change the GPRS Settings

Go to Settings->Wireless & Network Settings->Mobile Network Settings-> and then Network Mode to change the settings of GSM/WCDMA.

2. Sorry can't say about the wi-fi icon as I don't remember about it, I'm on gingerbread and don't remember about Froyo (I think you are on Froyo)

3. Yes, this supports video calling through Gtalk or Nimbuzz or Fring (Don't know about Network Video Calling)

4. Go to Settings->Wireless & Network Settings->Mobile Network Settings->Access Point Names->Hit the menu key and press New APN and then enter the name and APN.
 
so this phone doesnt support 3g video calling? ohhh

is there a way to get video calls using 3g.

Today only Upgraded to Cherry mobiles 2.3.4 GB. Some visible differences observe......

1. didn't get hot while charging

2. Nice visibility, smoothness

3. till now seems that, it is drawing battery very fast (faster than fryo :( )

4. some time got hang for some seconds (don't know why?????)

Any tips to extend battery life............
 
switch off 3G, Auto sync, GPRS when not using it, Switch to only GSM, while you are not using internet as this doesn't allow network video calling so you don't need 3G always, this will save lot of battery. and try to root and install SetCPU to undervolt it
 
tried getting a gps fix using GPS essentials app, but after 5 minutes still nothing. Could it be because of cloud cover and that I tried it inside a building. Can somebody tell me how they got the GPS working, I'm in Mumbai.
 
GPS working really fine even inside the building, Try Maps (Google Maps which is default Installed) and see whether GPS works or not, it may ask you to switch on the GPS during First use, goto settings and switch it one
 
hey ppl today evening im gonna but micro-sd card for this device.....will a 8gb class 10 work with this device?

has anyone tried it...any problem encountered?

Firt GPS fix always takes time around 15-20 mins that too if you are in open space. then after that you will have gps fix within 30 sec, this is based on my samsung spica experience:cool2:
