Will people stop recommending Dan Brown? Akshit is spending money to buy the books. He needs something better than the crappy use and throw Dan Browns :P

Other than Da Vinci Code rest are useless ones. I would rather pick up some WW2 books by Jack Higgins (but dont spend money on these though)

Ordered not a penny more, not a penny less and 12 Red Herrings from fabmall. Used the site before. Ships within 3 days. Total 380/- shipped. :D

easy reading timepass series would be the bartimius trilogy by jonathan stroud (all 3 books are out)

best fantasy series yet and will keep you engaged all vacations=wheel of time by robert jordan

small easy and great stories(fantasy/humor)=discworld series by prachett

best single book ive read=ender's game by orson card

if you wanna read archer, get kane and abel

How can you forget DUNE???!!!!

and regarding dan brown's works....IMHO Angels & Demons is >>>> Da vinci code.Really fast and good enough to read.

Is this the new cool thing now ??ipod bashing, and before that, Microsoft Windows bashing.

Now we are targetting Dan Brown ehh ??

What is wrong with his books ?? They are works of fiction. View it as such and they are excellent timepass. And for a first timer, they are extremely exciting and are excellent page turners.

If that is for me,Angels & Demons is also by dan brown.:)

hehe.... kumar...

I have read it too... I loved it except for the ending... the whole anti matter exploding from the helicopter and that Cardinal going nuts....

I wasnt referring to you actually.... Mainly to Zhops.

And many people who keep criticising Dan Brown. Yes, he isnt in the league of JRR Tolkien or some others... but he writes good entertaining books.

I dont want all books I read to have some sort of deep meaning or be as heavy as LOTR or Fine Balance. I like to be entertained at times and Dan Brown books do the job perfectly.

Digital Fortress was kinda sad though... didnt like it much.

I've read Da Vinci code. 'twas pretty decent..
Wha? Ack-shit! [pardon the pun] :ohyeah:

PyareMohan, I recommend Neuromancer, Fahrenheit 451, 1984, Brave New World, Animal Farm, Wuthering Heights, Pride and Prejudice, To Kill a Mockingbird, Catch-22, The Catcher in the Rye, Tess Of The D'Urbervilles, Jude the Obscure, The Count Of Monte Cristo, Sons and Lovers, and Of Mice And Men.

Only for 2 books.... DVC and Angels and Demons as I can read them over and over again purely for entertainment reasons.

Of course, it is a different fact that I rarely buy books from a proper shop.

The problem with his books is, once you read couple of them things become too predictable. Or maybe I got too bored with his style of writing with just 3 books of his. DVC, angels & demons and digital fortress.

Well, I tried reading them a second time, but couldn't go beyond a few pages. Thats why I recommend staying away from Dan Brown if you are spending money :P Same with that "Five point someone" chap. Extremely shallow books. Read them only if you you nothing else to do.

Well Akshit since you are in Delhi, y don't u give a try to the Daryanganj Sunday book market (used as well as 'duh' versions) ? Just browse around...buy what catches ur fancy..a good outing and some good pickings....
