Yesterday's Stats

Team is doing really well by Indian standards :P
I honestly did not expected this. Keep up the good work.
We are contributing approx 12.5% of the total Indian points generated / day with 10% result share.
Now we need some more members to start crunching :)
Nice going so far....
Keep Crunching.

How do i get such detailed statistics ... i dont see any kind of link which leads to this . please educate .

SharekhaN first of all you have to be clear what do u want to do, do you want to set up your own team/gig or you want to be part of the Techenclave team. If you become part of the Techenclave team you won't be getting any individual points but will be included in the Team points
Code:
Note: Points gained while with a team will remain with that team.
Also look at World Community Grid - Help

Now if you want to set up your own team, then go to World Community Grid - Sign in and you will have to add each computer to that team. This would have to be done even if you are part of the TEchenclave WCG . As given in the site itself the first results/statistics would be out 24 hrs. later.

Some screenies Enjoy

No , there is no doubt in my mind when it comes to creating a team . i am not . Since the project is something that ideally is selfless and is for the greater good i am approaching my company to set up their own so that the cause is benifited .

Surely we can all do this to help the cause .

On wcg website, go to Statistics > By Geography > Individual country statistics and select India from there.

It will show avg as well as yesterday's stats.

You can even get say last 14 records and compare it with any Team's data.

@shirish: points gained by team do remain with team. That means its not transfered to new team. but that does not mean you loose your personal points. they stay with you. your user statistics will show all your points.

I have at the moment around 54k points for Team TE. But my statistics still show my total. My overall rank is still there,

dahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh (simson version) :O
from title, I thought World Cyber Game :Comp2:
BTW: any prize ?

lol prize? prize for what?

Did u go through the other sticky???

This is never ending chase. Sure we can have some sort of competition in the near future for a particular time period with maybe custom tags and other goodies for top crunchers as a appreciation in the future. But otherwise its a voluntary work and we are not doing it expecting any returns.

pointswcgnn9.jpg

Why is that the case . It show my points at 4,343 however in the team - 3,045

I have never crunched out of the team .

just for the record, I am already there, just pending validation, till that keep on crunching, also no device installation shown. I think just have to wait for things to happen. /me sighs.

Personal stats are updated every 12 hours.

Team stats are updated every 24 hours.

Thats why that difference now.

Tomorrow morning (around 5:30 to 6:30am) update will match your latest team and personal score.

My download system (Linux) is totally TEXT interface.

How can I set ?

There is no issue. I just set up my ubuntu machine for this without any issue. The software has some display issues but that could also be due to it being a pure debian product rather than tweaked to ubuntu perfection. The info. you provided is not enough. Which flavor/distro. of linux you use? The boinc client is nothing much than a shell script. Although there may be already a pre-compiled package for your distro. which you need to install. For e.g. look at this bug-report https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/boinc/+bug/87353

You just have to run it :-

Code:
Running BOINC on Linux

There are currently two ways to run World Community Grid in Linux: via the Command Line and through the BOINC Manager. The directions below describe the command line installation as many Linux users will use this method. For help installing via the BOINC Manager, take a look at the Windows installation instructions.

To run the BOINC client via the command line, follow these steps:

   1. Download the BOINC installation file from the BOINC website and place it into a desired directory.

   2. Open a command line window and change to the directory where you downloaded the BOINC installation file.

   3. Make the installation file executable:

        chmod 700 boinc_5.8.15_i686-pc-linux-gnu.sh

   4. Install BOINC:

        ./boinc_5.8.15_i686-pc-linux-gnu.sh

   5. # Change directory so that you are in the directory created by BOINC during installation.

  cd BOINC

    6. You now need to register your BOINC client with the project. This is called attaching to the project. You do this by running the following command (all on one line):

  ./boinc -attach_project

  [url]www.worldcommunitygrid.org[/url] d16317e87799cee6e7f547c3edcc4bed

That's about it. If you have ncurses installed then you should be able to run the boinc manager too. I have X windows on the machine here so can't say for sure. As always your mileage may vary.

For knowing if things are working or not in boinc, if you are just on text setup run the following command :-

Code:
./boinc_cmd --get_state

Please note that this should be run where the boinc_cmd package/script is installed. If things are working fine you should get output something similar to this :-

A little tit-bit from WCG

Are the results produced by World Community Grid part of a commercial venture?

No. This is a philanthropic project, not for profit. The direct results of work done by the World Community Grid will be in the public domain.
:)

Shirish, i have put up your steps to install client on Linux in 1st post. Proper credits given. hope you dont mind :) And thanks.

Not at all, although these aren't my steps, they have been taken from WCG's home page itself. I went through the routine so know it. Although as you can see there are still some points which need clarification atleast for me.

O.k. first of all BAM or Boinc Account Manager still needs fixing by IBM guys.
WCG is one of very few left that do not allow BAM to write / setup an account. It has to be done manually with the BOINC, advanced, add to project, World Community Grid - Home, tick existing member, member name, password.

Before doing this, check in My Grid > My Profile that you have a BOINC account and CPID assigned.

Your second copy paste of terminal data indicates you are in fact attached and have received work.

Just reading in the back room update that IBM (who runs the servers for WCG), is going to do a security audit on BOINC. Will be a while before anything filters thru, recommendations are communicated and BOINC program adapted, before BAM will be allowed in.

World Community Grid - View Thread - Not able to attach to account manager

Now for the curious of the pending validation this is what it would look like :-
