Points Generated : 24,118

Results Returned : 64

Total Run Time (y:d:h:m:s): 0:012:05:04:46

Team is doing really well by Indian standards :P

I honestly did not expected this. Keep up the good work.

We are contributing approx 12.5% of the total Indian points generated / day with 10% result share.

Now we need some more members to start crunching :)

Nice going so far....

Keep Crunching.

i fear this is going to be another epenis thingy ....

lol it kind of is. But for a change, this little thing is gonna help someone in the end ;)

Its number competition for members. But the numbers we crunch go towards research that may one day bring some wonder drug into market.

And whats wrong with it, soo many of us just keep pcs on downloading stuff anyway. ;)

BTW you got your first results in finally :P

Keep Crunching.

Most of all keep asking everyone you know to join :) on the forums or otherwise. Most people just dont know what it is all about.

Yeah finally the results are in . didnt do too badly too i suppose . if i caluclated correctly in 4 results i had a lot of points compared to other users .... do results for the Aids projects fetch greater points ???

Its depending on Task, and mostly how much of your CPU you are dedicating.

Say there is 1 task. 1 user completes it in 3 hours on uber fast machine with 100% CPU dedicated to it. And there is another person who completes same task say in 10 hours. But he too dedicated 100% of the cpu to it. Both will get same points.

^^ just a ques: in the above case, will the 'cpu time' for that task be same for both the persons? Coz i guess you are allotted points based on the cpu time for that task...generally in boinc credit = ~10points per hour of cpu time. Actual points in your status is boinc points x 7....

the thing is, you do get additional points for CPU time.

Thats why people with less results but plenty of CPU time are the leaders. But in that case you really need to have lots and lots of hours. Bcoz a fast machine if kept crunching will run through results soo fast that in the end it will be generating way more points than the slower machine by pure no of results.

ah
...^^ makes sense a bit ... in any case ... mines running 24 x7 unless there is a power outage . :P .. and my machine isnt a slowpoke either :D

btw, funky how many machines have you dedicated to wcg besides your main pc?....must be ~3-4 of them.....the results show :P

actually total only 2

my main pc(C2D @ 3.37Ghz) and X2 3600+ @ 2.5Ghz.

Its the pure Mhz and 100% CPU dedication thats getting those results.

It shows 4 installs but thats due to recent complete format and resinstall of my both systems.

Planning to add 3rd machine soon. Another C2D dedicated system :P

^^ SO temme are you putting up machines and spending resources purely for WCG's sake or are these machine that you actually use for some other purpose ?

Those machines serve dual purpose. But those were not needed.

1 machine will be doing dad's accounting. I dont want that data on my PC. So its hardly gona need any processing power.

1 is completely dedicated cruncher.

1 is my main PC.

And I am spending my resources for this. Those are my earnings. Noone is dependent on me as of yet ;)

Rather than going out and buying Xbox 360 i spent that money for WCG this time around :P

crap...maybe i should set up one myself ...i have a a amd 64 2800 lying around . and a board . so i should look for resources as well . should i put a a donation thread to set up this pc . i dont think much is required . even a 10 gb hdd , 128 or so measly ram , a PSU , a NIC and a cabinet . ?? , ( serious ) does it make sense ? or if some one else has these resources , i con donate my mobo and proccesor if he is putting up a machine for WCG's sake .

The calculation of Points is the method World Community Grid uses to calculate your contribution to our Internet Distributed Computing projects.

First, the "strength" of your participating machine(s) is calculated by measuring the following parameters of your machine against the World Community Grid Comparison Device:

• CPU power
• Random Access Memory (RAM)
• Allocated and available hard disk storage space
• Effective downsteam throughput from the World Community Grid Servers to the World Community Grid Agent

The strength of the machine is then multiplied by the effective run time used to complete the work unit and successfully return the results to the World Community Grid Servers. Any parameter can overachieve the like parameter on the World Community Grid Comparison Device. However, the maximum value of your machine's overall strength will be capped at twice the value of the World Community Grid Comparison Device strength.

This should shed some light . it does mean that faster you pc , better are your points earned .

I do have plan to setup scarp thread for WCG where people who have scarp parts left can list it and they can be donated / purchase at very cheap prices for this purpose.
I will talk to admins if its ok to do so. Almost all big teams have this kind of thread.

my pc knew nothing but download movies , music and showing them . now it has some purpose and direction in its life . i am just helping my pc achieve that :P

i have just spoken to my boss about putting a proposition towards the Human captal management dept . about working towards the project . me and my boss are skeptical but nevertheless its a try , since we have a more than 1000 plus pentium 4 idling at any given point in time 24 x7 , this should be a good number if it works .
