To buy a home from any of the holds in Skyrim, you need to talk to the Jarl's PA. He'd give you the option of buying one once you've completed the task from him/Jarl. The cheapest I suppose is in Whiterun for 5000 septims. If you can't afford a home, do what I did - clear out Drelas' Cottage. A useless dark mage lives there which can be taken care of pretty easily. Once he's done with that house is yours and has an Arcane Enchanter and the Alchemy Lab as well. Not to mention plenty of space for all the loot you can ever carry and dispose off.

Oh yes! I remember killing this mage. He was tough to handle in the beginning, but a few shots from my steel war-hammer and he was down. I'll re-visit his cottage. Thanks for the heads up.

Black_Hawk: Dude I don't recall much now. But I did most of the side quests first and then resumed the main quest. I knew if I were to complete the main questline first, I'd be bored with the side quests.

Have you encountered any Dragon Priest(s) yet? Don't sell their masks! You will need them towards the end when you have 'em all.
<

I think I have encountered a Dragon Priest and yes I did pick up his mask! Whew!! This is the plan I have thought of to handle the questline:

Main Quests (40% done) > Companions Quest (Completed) > College of Winterhold Quests (Completed) > Remaining Main Quests > Dark Brotherhood Quests > Civil War Quests > Thieves Guild Quests.

Hope it works out well

Btw mate, did you complete all the miscellaneous city based quests in Skyrim? I mean they are way too many, lol!

I think I completed almost all of the important side quests save for those repeating ones like Animal Extermination, Slaying Dragons, Clearing giants etc.

Btw are you playing in the first-person or third-person mode? Allwyn what of you?

Yup, same here. Completing all important side quests except for the one's that I see are being repeated with the same objectives (remember the one in which Tolifdir keeps losing his Alembic, lol!).

I'm playing in third person mode and find it great. The only time I did switch to first person view so far is while solving that mirror-beam puzzle in the quest 'Revealing the Unseen'.

You won't be able to complete the game if you only play the main missions. Some quest are way too strong for your initial health and experience level.

Even with 600+ health it becomes daunting at times.

Quick quesiton, how do I separate the main quests from the side ones? I assumed the ones listed under 'Misc' tasks were side ones, but turns out the quest I'm doing currently 'The man who cried wolf' was a side quest, but is listed with the normal list quest list.

Good that someone asked.

I am not sure if anyone else noticed but did you guys carefullly look at the artwork on the left and right side of the quest title on the right side of the panel? Take a look:

sidequest.jpg

THAT thing differs from quest to quest. And IINM the main quest has the artwork of 2 dragons on either sides of the title.

^It's a really nice touch. The Dark Brotherhood, Companions etc, all have a unique symbol. I only noticed this some 6 hours into the game.

The Main Quest is set apart by it's length and content quality. Oblivion had side quests that could almost match the main quest (Mages Guild, Fighters Guild). Not so in Skyrim. Was quite dissapointed by the College and Companions quests.

If you ONLY complete the main mission objectives... how long is the game?

it will take hours if you play properly coz there are side quests .. once you complete the 1st part of side quest then it shifts into the main quest like the one i just did .. The black star .. in which you have to work for Daedric lord Azzura !!!

Started the game.Unfortunately the jumping physics or animation is still similar to oblivion(only slightly better than oblivion).

Apart from that everything seems awesome. The wonderful water realism makes a special note.

Yea, I still cant believe why Bethesda's engine is incapable of making decent jump animation. It was similarly horrible in Fallout 3 and Oblivion. I mean almost every game has this working properly. Even a game with primitive graphics like WoW has wonderful jump animations. They even have different animations for different races.

BTW: If there is anyone who still hasnt bought Skyrim yet, its up for sale at 50% OFF on GreenManGaming for the next few hours.
