The 2014 Black Friday Thread

Are you sure it is locked? I read somewhere that it is unlocked.

I did some more search. Actually they are having a 6-month lock in period. But ATT can unlock it for u, if you're travelling internationally or somewhat on that lines. So i think we can take the gamble ! So once we get the phone, we need to contact ATT for the codes, for which they might/might-not oblige.

Secondly, the sad part. The $39 stock ended and they have relisted the black one for $179 :(

To all TE'ians now, if we use PayPal to pay for the products, do these firms give us some headache in shipping or order cancellation as the paypal card billing address is in India, and the one for freight forwarders like PPOBox are different (US Based) ?

No problem with discrepancy between PayPal account address and ppobox shipping address.

Ideally the Billing address should be same as PayPal account address even though it is not mandatory.

Shipping address doesn't matter at all.

(If you are getting an SSD, let me know, we can place a group order - Amazon or ThirdPartyFWDer ?)

Intel 730 series 480GB SSD for $199.

Is does this SSD fare compared to the competition? Worth getting?[DOUBLEPOST=1417013857][/DOUBLEPOST]

Is it user upgradable by any chance? I mean I saw that the RAM and HDD are not soldered from an internal shot, but can it be opened easily?

Go for the sandisk extreme pro 480gb... It is way better than the intel 730 ssd and performance level is almost at par with samsung 850 ssd which is the best ssd in the market period... Today i was about to jump the guns and buy the sandisk extreme pro 480gb which was selling for 209$ at amazon but missed the deal... It was a lightning deal :(... i hope it would be selling for 209$ or below on black friday or on cybermonday... Intel 730 endurance level is very high (91/128tb) and a bit better than sandisk extreme pro (samsung 850 pro is in a different league :p (150tb))... The reason coz of which i am suggesting you to go with extreme pro is because it is better than 730 ssd in almost everyway and comes with 10 years warranty... The only advantage intel 730 ssd has over both samsung 850 pro and extreme pro is that it comes with 5 years international warranty... Dont know whether sandisk and samsung honors warranty for international purchase or not... You can check this benchmark to see how intel 730 fares against the extreme pro and 850 pro... And one more thing it runs very hot and consumes a lot of power as compared to the other ssds so not good to put in a laptop... :)

^^Sandisk Extreme Pro is not worth it for me at over $300.

$225 is the absolute max I am going to spend. So unless there is a real good deal, I will stick to the other options that are available.

Anyways, are you sure that Intel has International warranty on its SSD's?

Currently Sandisk Extreme Pro 480GB is selling for

249 + 5.89 (shipping) + 33.27 (Custom Duty (you may get some money back from amazon) + 3% (exchange rate) = Rs. 18455

i would suggest you to wait, the price of this ssd would go down to almost around 200 on either BF or cybermonday...

Anyways, are you sure that Intel has International warranty on its SSD's

Last year a lot of people had confirmed this on 2013 BF thread so i guess yeah it carry's international warranty

When a lot of ppl had confirmed that intel ssds come with international warranty, i had jumped the guns and i had bought intel 530 240gb ssd last year for 169$
