Completed reading "Digital Fortress - Dan Brown" - didn't liked much. so-so.

Now starting 'A Thousand Splendid Suns' - heard very good words about it.

Started and completed "Sins of the Father" by Jeffry Archer, the sequel to "Only Time Will Tell". Excellent book, although the ending was a cliffhanger, dammit!

Now starting with Michael Crichton's "Sphere"

finally completed The White Tiger' - bought this in last December.

- awesome book indeed. Hope his other book - Last Man in Tower is as good as this one. Gonna buy that soon.

Also completed "Of Course I Love You...! Till I Find Someone Better..." - by some wannabe Chetan Bhagat named Durjoy Dutta. A total waste 100 bucks. Yuck - somehow completed since I bought & started. An IIT/IIM/DCE degree doesn't qualify someone to be a writer. These useless kids tries only to copy CB (well, he's total masala too - but he's the trend setter here) - and write only slang and sex-sex and more sex. Its kinda yucky pornography with 'national bestseller' written on the cover. and WTF reviews they have in flipkart - wow !! they might nominated for some booker or so if someone reads only the reviews but not the book.(another book I couldn't complete is - I too had a love story)

I am not an avid reader - hardly read 10/12 books - but one thing for sure - I will never pick such a book by some college kid (just because it has good review in fk or wherever).

Hope I am not hurting someone's sentiment here.

Still.... NOM

I am @ Goodreads

He writes big crap. Please don't buy based on FK reviews. Most of them will be fake. Just for reviews online & buy. But sadly even reviewers get paid to write good about them

Read it?

Yeah started reading today after your reminder..The book was too philosophical for my liking, and there was deep meaning alright, but nothing we don't know of already.

The one thing I liked most about the book is the ending, where he gets the crap beaten out of him, and then gets to know about the location of the treasure with a maniacal(my imagination) laugh!

I suggest you to read LOTR. [5/5]

Sydney best works are IMO, Tell Me your dreams [4.5/5]& The other side of midnight [and also Memories of Midnight] [4.5/5].

You can also read Kane & Abel. [5/5]

And Godfather by Mario Puzo [5/5/]

Currently reading Lost Fleet series, and I love it. I'm halfway through the sixth book now, and I only started a week and a half ago.

It is about big, like military space fleet movements, but in real detail, where the constraints of speed of light and speed of acceleration and deceleration are mixed into the plot so that this commander who is actually, he was in suspended animation for a generation, during which time a huge sort of civil war among human colonies got underway. And all of the people who knew real fleet movement got killed. And so he gets found in a life support capsule, and this is - I'm not giving away much because you get this in the first few pages of the first book. And he is resuscitated. And it turns out that technically he's got seniority even though he's still young.

150 years ago he was in charge of things. And so he remembers how to fight space battles with knowledge that has been lost from the human race.

I suggest who are interested in Science-fiction, specially people who want to start into Si-fi should read it. Atleast, I really enjoyed reading these novels.

Its based on Bhagwan Shiv. (aka Mahadev

)

here he's been depicted as a mere mortal but with certain powers. Plotted in Indian subcontinent - all fictitious characters but based on mythological characters. (Ganesh, Kali, Parvati etc etc)

Anybody read angels and demons? Made me Dan Brown fan.

A really good novel, full of twists.

Also, anyone reads Sidney Sheldon's novels?

Read only one, and I must say, he writes lots of non veggy stuff(story was good btw.)!

How is Pelican Brief?

EDIT: Deleted the spoiler!

Any ratings ? by your reply shall I guess 4.5/5 or somehting ?

I wanted to start A Song of Ice and Fire, but quite a few people told me that only first 3 books are good. Then it appears as if even the author doesn't have any idea about the direction the series is going. Now, after reading LotR (only once) and HP (thrice!!!) which are well constructed and planned from beginning, it feels waste of time to read only few books of a series.
