Hmmm nice thread, amusing to read...

I will just say that each one to hos own....
Even in premium phones from Nokia and SE and brands other then apple, there are bad surprises, which are often missed by review sites....

for ex, the early batch of Nokia E50 had a joystick that literaly drilled your thumb...

so If anyone like iphone, then I am sure that person understands it's drawbacks too... after all there are some people buying 8800 arte for 54k and vertu at 100k, so iphone is quite better ;)

^ Agreed, nothing is perfect. For me its just a phone, you give me features like faster SMS tpying speed, long battery standy-talk time, decent size (not a matchbox, neither a brick) easy to use keys, scratch proof screen, durable body, no camera, no music player, user friendly handsfree set, make it dust resistance, make it in a way that it received signals in basements/hill stations....these are features for a PHONE! :cool2: For music Apple Shuffle 1GB is more than enough unless u watch movies on a 2" screen? and there is no replacement of a digicam, no phone camera can match the quality of even an entry level digicamera. If there is a phone in this world that can match the quality it will be so expensive that one can buy 3 digicams or more for that price.... or a highend gaming PC, or something more useful lol... ;)

^ Yeah i had that and infact i loved it, still have it haha....... wanted GPRS to connect to PC hence bought Nokia E51. I know i will never use its camera, seperate digicam.
 
Actually i think convergence will always be there . Ofcourse separate specialist devices will be in demand , but companies always are interested to show their capabilities. . Personally i think iphone is not a convergence device, n95 is. I am not an apple hater , i love my nano, which has perhaps the worst sound quality in the market, but then it is an apple !
 
One will end being a paranoid person and will start comparing iphone with a desktop pc- or worse a laptop. If that's the case, I am sure many people here will welcome that person to make his iphone crunch for wcg. As a fan, many people wont mind spending 20k but nothing more than that. No matter how a sophisticated a mobile, if the basics are not covered (for example, not able to send from bluetooth, not that I hate iphone, but its so darn silly) than it deserves nothing more than 2 out of 5.
