Just got an Iphone 3GS(Bought in the US).Its been unlocked,running iOS 4.1 and is on baseband 6.15.00.Can I update it to iOS5? I am a newbie to iOS,so will need a detailed tutorial.

My phone is from singapore too, and the home button is sticky, the warranty expires in Dec, will they Apple singapore replace the phone or repair it for me? Do you have any idea?

even I am having the home button issue (it has become hard). Did you repair yours? If yes, could you mention the source and cost involved? Thanks.
 
I do not trust the local repair guys enough to let them repair it . For all I know it might get more screwed up .
 
A newbie to iOS and I've got a couple queries.
1.Is there a video player which plays multiple formats and also detects videos from all folder.Something like TCPMP on the Pocket PC.:P
2.Is there any way to hide videos in players like avplayer,oplayer,vlcplayer,etc.? I've read about 'Video safe' but it only plays native iPhone formats.:P

Any help would be much appreciated.:)

If JB available then nothing beats VLC. You can get the app from installous else AVplayer HD does the job.
 
Finally i have done the jailbreaking of my iPhone 4 using Redsn0w 0.9.9b8 and now cydia is available on spring board. Cannot install ultrasn0w as of now since i do not have a micro SIM. Waiting for the SIM Cutter to arrive in mail.

As of now, even without having a Non-AT&T MicroSIM, i can install Ultrasn0w and keep it right ?

As of now there is a AT&T microSIM in my iPhone but it seems to be deactivated and when i go to settings -> network, it says "SIM Not provisioned"

I am trying to restore my iphone from long time but i am still not succeed. I had googled and tried to do all possoble steps. Please somebody help me to get this solved.

You can't restore unless you have your signature saved. Have you?

So i have also unlocked the iPhone using Ultrasn0w and inserted a vodafone SIM card and it now logged onto the T Mobile network here :)

what signature, are you talking about iphone backup. I tried to flash with redsn0w but i cant succeed.
