In my Iphone 4s, under settings < phone < my number is "unknown". How do I resolve this? And I don't see any "my number" option in "About" option under Settings.
 
Mohit i had the exact same problem.in my case i did a complete reset and that solved it.i was using airtel.

I finally managed to fix the problem. Here is what I did:

1. Turn Facetime off.

2. Turn Facetime on.

3. Click "cancel" on the pop up that appears asking for your apple id and warning you about the sms charge for activating Facetime.

4. Click "cancel" again on the pop up that appears asking for your apple id and warning you about the sms charge for activating Facetime.

5. Voila !! Face time is activated.

I did the same for iMessage too.

It seems to be working now and I am able to talk to my cousin using iMessage.

Go to Settings -> General -> Software Update and click on download phone will be updated and nothing will be deleted

Major changes in iOS 5.1 -

1. Camera shortcut on lock screen

2. Battery improved

3. Siri available in Japanese

4. Camera can now detect multiple faces

Battery has surely improved. Will do full charge and then will report back

Camera shortcut on lock screen was already there on iOS 5.0.1 but used to appear only on double click of home button .

Now it will be visible all the time it seems.
 
Can somebody recommend good apps (preferably free) for the following purposes:

1. Call recording

2. Call/SMS Blacklist Manager

3. Backups for contacts

Why did you guys update to iOS 5.1. You know it took almost six months for the dev team to come out with a proper unthethered jailbreak for iOS 5.0.1. Shocking.
 
Just got 4S and im very new to iOS. There was no option for forcing 2G in 5.0.1, so i updated to 5.1 to check whether this option has been added. Becas the place i'm living has bad 3G coverage, so battery will go for a toss..unless i force to use 2G and as i expected in 5.1 there is option for enable 3G. So now i cant jailbreak?
