extended warranty? i hardly use phone more than a year but yes it helps increase resale value of the piece atleast.

saar, you belong to the elite power cellphone user group.....am sure there are many users here on the forum (like me ) that use the cellphone right till the time the mobile or the person using the mobile can take no more!

Update: Lost my second stylus as well !!! :@

Why do you want blutooth internet when the phone is having Wifi.

Just ask your ISP to change your modem to be wifi enabled if it is not.

OR

Buy a wireless router. Costs has come down drastically.

On the bluetooth thing, I have tried it and it worked sometimes. Oh! I tried long time back on my w810i.. :hap2:

hi guys, whats the deal with the GPS? In the nokia site it is mentioned that it comes with 3 months free gps.. so are they reffering to voice guided navi of ovi maps or the GPS signal ??

cos my friend has a N95 which came with one week license but now the phone is like 10 months old and he still gets the active location lock in google maps without renewing ny lic.

So will it be the same with 5800 ?

I use the *ahem* version, lifetime free Voice Navigation:P

legally, only basic maps are free but navigation is subscription based service by Nokia.

confuses me more.. guys ive never had a gps enabled phone before so i dont know if its like a free service or a paid one/ as far as i understand .. gps will stop working as soon as your license of voice guided navigation expires// or am i wrong?? is the license only for the "voice guided" part of it and will i be able to use apps like google latitude even after the three months have expired?

Also is the gps in 5800 A-GPS??

GPS is a hardware based thing and it will always work, and yes we have A-GPS. License is required only for voice based turn by turn navigation for ovi maps, but after the license expires also you can use ovi maps without voice navigation and google maps also.

Google maps voice navigation is already available in android based phones and it is expected to be available for us also soon. :hap2: So no need of nokia's voice navigation anymore, it will be free from google. :hap2:

My nokia 5800 charger AC-8E became faulty within one week of use. So from Nokia Care they gave me AC-5N charger which they are saying is fully compatible with 5800. I noticed that ratings are same as of AC-8E. But still will any problem arise if I use AC-5N charger with 5800? Is it fully compatible with the phone?

Another question: Is quickoffice and adobe reader comes free with this phone? If I go to ovi store it says I need to pay. So users, where are u getting quickoffice from?

i have observed AC-8E takes less time to charge compare to other nokia chargers. though compatibility is not an issue.

adobe reader is not free u have to pay 600+ bucks for it . though u can try 15 days trial version.:)
quickoffice is also not free AFAIK. wait for others response.

recently i recommended my uncle this phone.....In UP the price of 5800 in local market ranges from 13.2 - 13.5 with PMX60/PMX80 + ReebokWatch(Nokia Priority)/Reebok Bag(Nothing special abt reebauk gift) ....at last spotted the new one-mobile store(futuregrp) ....got 1yr xtended warranty@Rs150 +13.5k

Can anyone comment on the touch screen on this phone. I have never used a touch screen. Is it too resistive (insensitive) and inaccurate as some people say. Will it be difficult to type on it? I look and type. I never type without looking at the key board. Is it a could phone to buy before the the android phone prices come down to a realistic level? My current phone has started giving me problems.

And how would be the experience of reading books on it in the landscape mode?

Searched around a bit and it's confirmed, v40 has the following features

- Kinetic Scrolling everywhere except browser, menu and app menu
- 5530 like Homescreen :hap2: (Hard reset required it seems)
- Turning to landscape mode while typing automatically now opens up full qwery keyboard
- Ovi Contacts pre installed

Any idea when it will be officially available for India? :S Else will have to change product code and update :(

EDIT : Guys the update available now through NSU. Enjoy!!
