Also, cardio before workout is a bad idea. It's not your main workout, but just a supplemental workout. Use your maximum energy for weight training and do cardio only after you've finished with it.

One question, I drink crazy amount of water. Like 3~4 liters a day. I read it maybe bad for my health. Is it true?

This also depends on the climate where you live/work. Humid ones tend to make you drink lots of water.
Where I live, if i were to drink that much water, i'd be peeing a hell lot more!

that's understandable, but strangely, i feel very less thirsty in humid climate. also, it often feels like there's a lump of mass stuck in my throat in a humid climate, and the feeling doesn't go away unless i feel a gush of air (sometimes even when i am sweating. am prone to sweating profusely, and i love it, esp. when its due to physical exertion); but i think this may be due to the kind of stale/sultry/soggy-type weather a humid place tends to have.
similar thing for hunger. feel less of it in a humid place. on the contrary, i feel a lot more thirsty and hungry (almost voracious) in places with dry climates. have had enough experience living in both kinds of places/situations to affirm to this seemingly weird bodily-fact of mine. sadly, am now stuck at a place with a humid climate, whereas i have always despised such a weather!

deliberately drinking too much water is bad for the body. I can't say about the kidneys getting into overwork mode but large amounts of water can surely decrease the electrolyte or sodium levels, which can prove fatal. people have died during those water-drinking competitions :dead:... they call it water poisoning. unless you have built the ability to digest that much amount of water, don't over do it... and replacing water with proper food is not the right way to lose weight :D.

if you still want to drink lots of water then add electrolyte (ORS) to it.

position the treadmill on slight incline (~15-20 degrees) to get rid of the pain in your shins/knees. only drawback is that the exercise will become more strenuous now! you might hurt your knees badly (sometimes, permanently) if you don't pay attention to that pain in the legs.

Dec 2012, I twisted my ankle playing shuttle.

Thirst is a hard word. :). I just drink water so that i dont get hungry and to increase metabolism.

Whaat! In 2012 and you're still facing problems? :( Was yours a super horrifying ankle-twist?
I twisted my ankle last week by slipping and falling weirdly on my foot. I didn't go to a doctor and worked from home for 3 days. That first day was terrible, but 3 days later I was able to walk with a limp. I can walk okay now, but I can't run or jump.
I am just hoping that everything will heal up in another week... but your post is scary!

I twisted pretty badly. Didnt bother going to doc. Only like 4 months back i went for a checkup. No fracture and all, gave that ibuprofen.
Once i took that my legs got better and i started to run. Dunno what happened day before yest. Going for gym today. Will see today or tmrw. God help me. I like running. :(

I kept trying to run during those months. but pain. Dunno maybe its in my head also. I can walk fine. no pain nothing.

perhaps, a strained ligament there? ankle-twists usually put the ligament(s) in the feet under quite some strain. do you notice any colouration in your foot anywhere, esp. anywhere near the joint; a light greenish /yellowish/purple tinge, now, or when you had twisted your ankle?

Well... No.. I think.... Perhaps yellowish. But i have a wheatish complexion. People call it fair, but i think its more of Indian Fair. :S

ok. if you happen to go for a run again, then see if there's any undue colouration on any spot of your foot, esp. near the joint, after you come back. but i think your condition is alright.

I just came from a run. 30 minutes cardio. Feeling ok. its just a sensation there. Cant put my finger on it. :(. I think its all in my mind.

I too want some tips
I am on my gainer using 2 scoops after gym. And using creatine before workout 5mg.
It is giving me fat around my belly so I started doing cardio before workout and this thing too giving me a lot of pain below my knees.
And btw I too drink a lot of water 3-4 litrs is nothing.
I drink almost 9-10 ltrs a day sometimes more like from last 1 year:confused:
9-10 litres of water is crazy.
Simple logic being, too much of anything is crazy.

When I do gymming when I left gym my weight got increased by 1.5kg all because of drinking water frequently.
That's completely illogical. Water doesn't contain enough calories to cause weight gain; in fact, a slight increase in metabolism is possible, which means more calories are burned.

I guess, the problem with you is that you didn't gain enough muscles while you were working out.

Planning to join Gym from Monday hopefully..
any idea or tips for begineer.. (Also I feel ashamed, fear of always taking first step (Thinking of joining Gym from the past 2 years))

This time I have decided to join from Monday..

^^ if you are a beginner then this much gain is normal. but if you are an old-timer then this is really commendable. creatine + lots of water is working for you... at least for your biceps ;-)

My height 5.11" Weight 64kg (Thin hands)

Looks like you have an overall thin/lean physique... If it's true than it'll be a nice gym experience for you, as you won't have to worry about shedding fat. You'll be free of mundane cardio/running for couple of months. :-)

If you are totally new to weight lifting then I'd suggest you to get yourself familiarized with the weights/equipment at your gym. Check on internet what all exercises you can perform with what's available at your gym. Free weights give you the maximum potential to gain muscles but there are more chances to injuries, unlike with machines. As a beginner, I won't ask you to jump into some readymade routine but you should try to understand how your body behaves with different exercises, food intake, etc. Get to know about your limitations.

Once you are comfortable with the names/techniques and effect of the exercises on particular body parts, start creating a diet and exercise plan. You just can't follow some random plan from the internet because your body is unique and so are the equipment/weights at your gym. You won't be able to perform all the exercises listed on that readymade plan. So, you need to understand/learn some alternate exercises to engage all the body parts.

Keep posting your questions/observations/progress here so that others can also learn and help you.
