300lbs/136kgs PLUS Squat is very good mate. How about other lifts? :P Ideally your DL should be 160/170kgs plus :)

Any suggestions .

seems ok to me

instead of doing arms on separate day include with bigger muscle group likw

chest / shoulder / triceps (pushing movement)

back / biceps (pulling movement)

legs

or

chest

shoulder/triceps

back/bicep

legs

i think 2 variations for body part is more than enough....do low reps (6-12) with heavy weights :)

for eg....decline,flat bench and dips target same area ...if u do all three workout during chest then u r overdoing it, so do decline/flat with dips.

i personally seen people doing more than 5 variation for bicep alone, dont know why :P

Re: The Fitness Thread !

Yeah had done that routine in the initial two months.
But instructor suggested me to go for single target to reduce body stress and also for better recovery time for muscles.
He was of the view that doing too many things may stress out the muscles.
Will try old method starting january then with heavy weights.
For arms i do Db upto 17.5 kgs max reps reach upto 12 - 15 do 3 sets starting 12kg, 15 kg and then 17.5kg.
With BB i max out at 35kg plus short bar.
All these alone without any support from trainer/instructor.

Re: The Fitness Thread !

Whole milk is best one can have for rapid strength/weight gain. Glad the banana shakes worked for you. Bananas are good post workout but whole milk is BEST!

Get your thyroid checked, have deworming medicines. Consult your doctor before taking any. Try to start chewing everything you eat.

ragzdiablo said:
tried that for a year too...i think i need to go see a doc..
I'll be direct and honest. You are looking at minute details. It is good to keep a log of measurements but you are going the "geek way". Split routine won't get you anywhere trust me. Your instructor is giving you pure 100% bullcrap as he is himself misinformed and doesnot know he is.

Trust me you are not stressing your body much to trigger growth doing split routines.

GGT my suggestion, just try 5x5 for 3 months and don't listen to your trainer for that time. Just follow it blindly.

START WITH 20 KGS AND ADD 2.5 KG (TOTAL WEIGHT EVERY WORKOUT) YOU NEED A PAIR OF 1.25KGS PLATES TO DO THIS. IF YOUR GYM DOESNOT HAVE A PAIR BUY FROM SOMEWHERE AND CARRY IT TO THE GYM. THIS WON'T WORK WITHOUT 1.25KG PLATES.

Workout A

Squat 5x5

Bench Press 5x5

Inverted Rows 3xF

Push-ups 3xF

Reverse Crunch 3x12

Workout B

Squat 5x5

Overhead Press 5x5

Deadlift 1x5

Pull-ups/Chin-ups 3xF

Prone Bridges 3x30sec

• Alternate workout A & B each session.

• Most people train Mo/We/Fr or Tu/Th/Su or Sa/Tu/Th.

• Always take at least 48 hours rest between 2 workouts.

• Alternate Pull-ups & Chin-ups each workout B.

• Do 5 sets of 5 reps with the same weight on all exercises.

• Deadlifts is only 1 set of 5 reps.

• Do 3 sets until failure on body-weight exercises: 3 sets of as many reps as you can do with good technique.

READ/WATCH VIDEOS ON HOW TO DO THESE EXERCISES PROPERLY AND DO AT YOUR OWN RISK.;)

Re: The Fitness Thread !

Hi all

I have been facing some problem with my knee. After running like 1.5-2 Km or walking after 10kms I start having severe pain in my right knee. Got it checked doctor took x-ray and said all fine there is no problem. Have lots of water and liquid and you will be fine. But It does not seem to go away. And after sitting at a place for long time when I get up I get knocking sound too from my knees. What could be the problem any idea? Please advice.

Thanks
